Without a huge miracle (or disaster), looks like this is our destiny. I'm not fan (apart from when we're not involvedĀ  and then its the best football of the season).

Unless we suddenly click with scoring, I can see two draws and penalties. (I wish I could get odds on that, if someone can give me the nod)

I'm moving to somewhere in the country with no WIFI for three week!! I feel physically sick (already) thinking about it

One "positive" of our current iffy form is that should we get to the final there is absolutely no chance of us turning up thinking we've won, as v Oxford.Ā  I was as guilty as anyone of being pleased they beat Posh in the semi and it felt like it was our destiny.

We could be playing anyone in the top half this y ear and there will be zero sense of superiority complex.Ā  The only way that might shift a bit is if we happen to play one of them in the last 7 games eg Huddersfield and win 5-0 like we had beaten Oxford, then face them at Wembley a few weeks later (unlikely).

Happy to approach any game in the play offs with a bit of an underdog mentality.

Even though we'll probably be favourites against anyone.

Whoever we play there will be no more than one goal in it, we'll concede first, score late and we draw loads so extra-time will probably be involved at some point.

I have a feeling that this season is destined to end with something that will be remembered forever. But we'll probably have to go through hell to get there.

We've been in play offs so many times over the years, that they can lose their excitement, to be replaced with a sense of dread! :)

Ā

I was nothing but excited for the Oxford final

for that reason I am now dreading them this season

"Underdog" probably not the right word, just in relative terms compared to playing Oxford which seemed to be treated the same as City v Wigan and Liverpool v Wimbledon cup finals!

Anyway, we could finish 3rd or 6th, we could get anything from about 8 to 20 points from our last 8 games.Ā  So its not a given we'd be favourites, every chance we'll be playing teams that we haven't beaten in the league, unlike last time.

Not a given that we actually get in the playoffsĀ

I'm sorry to be an harbinger of doom, but I can't see us winning the play offs.

Awaiting the comments like 'wouldn't want to be in the trenches with you, we're the third best team in the league, we're unbeaten in 10, Schumacher knows best, we've got the best squad in league bla bla bla šŸ˜€

Hope I'm wrong. I'm in a bad mood by the way. Off to bed now 😓

currently £1k for a flight home Weds to Weds

will be paid for if/when my bets on MK Dons winning the title and us finishing top 6 come in

don't want to get ahead of myself, but going to have to start planting seeds with the other half

as no way could i tell her my plans once we actually got to the final with a week or so's notice

needs to start now

We have been found out just the same as two seasons ago. We are now easy to defend against and hit on the counter. SS has two months to work out plan B or we will go the same way as Evatt did.

Does anybody else feel like we've been waiting for everything to click under SS since he came in?

I'm sure this time last season we were in a strong position (maybe even challenging for automatics?) and completely tossed it off - we had the opposite of a new manager bounce, whatever you'd call that. I remember SS basically got a pass because they weren't his players and he kept making digs at how individuals weren't performing in post-match interviews.

I'm not sure what my point is here other than, up to now, it still hasn't clicked IMO. The amount of late goals is obviously great but I'd rather we didn't need them. I've not looked at the stats but I bet Lincoln and Cardiff haven't needed as many late goals.

Unless it all suddenly falls into place, i'm worried.

Happy Friday šŸ˜‚

No he has been against it from day one.....On the outside it seems he inherited a top league one squad but half the squad wanted out. The last month we finished the season with four 17 year olds in the team because of injuries, players not available because they were protecting themselves for moves away etc. In the Summer the club re-invested in the off field management and SS/Harkin brought more money in than they shelled out. We then started the season with a mish mash of SS and Evatt players and injuries to SS main investments ie Dalby,Erhahon and Taylor. We then spluttered to Christmas again getting rid of four more Evatt signings. The players he brought in all had issues at their parent clubs some soon settled in some as yet have not worked. My only gripe with SS is that he does not seem to play to his strengths and is very predictable.

We will get into the play-offs i have no doubt. Not sure we will win them but we will be having a mass clear out re-build what ever league we start next season.....Overall i think he has done ok, but i am only going to Judge him from next season.....Even though i think he can do better if he changes the system up and i do not mean tweaks in the last ten minutes when we are chasing the game.

Good honest post, i think if we're in this same league and limping up to Christmas with 2 steps forward 2 steps back again and different players in different positions week in week out with, random substitutions with no signs of anything changing or improving then it'll become obvious that he's not the man for the job as i think some fans have already realised.

I'm not saying get rid of him as not sure anyone else would do better. I would question our signings though but not sure how much they are his decisions. I'd also question his constant changing of the team and weaknesses in certain areas that have been pointed out many times.

Fine margins in football. Just a handful of goals from all the simple chances we’ve missed could have given us that extra 10 points to be up there challenging for the automatics. None of those misses were Schueys fault and I’m sure frustrated him every bit as much as the rest of us. Let’s just hope we finally find our shooting boots for the play offs which were certainly going to be in?

Why would you even consider replacing a manager when 3rd in the league, unbeaten in 12 games while also in credit in the transfer market ( money wise) and with a very good chance of promotionĀ šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I don't think anyone has said we need to replace him have they?

Me too but I just have this sneaking feeling that it will be us v Plymouth at Wembley and them looking for revenge for the last time we met there! 🄓

I'm not sure I agree with him being up against it. He didn't inherit a team struggling towards the bottom of the league, it was a group of players who were evidently just not quite good enough to get promoted and needed a freshen-up.

Unfortunately, SS didn't bring that in any way, shape or form.

You're obviously way more ITK than the rest of us because I wasn't aware that half the team wanted out.

Getting rid would be mental, but that doesn't mean it's been a success up to now - it's been a tough grind.

Last seasons run in saw us take 8 points from the last 8 gamesĀ

How many points do you think we will get from our remaining games this season folks?
