Globetrotter Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Rather than locking the thread I thinks its quite encouraging that 99.9% of posters think the same, that now is not the time to sack OC. A realistic conclusion that many other club's supporters may not have made. This should be turned into positive support for the team no matter how gutted we are at the recent performances (we have a part to play). The ridiculous fixture list has defo played its part but mistakes have been made by OC and the players also. As others have said now is the time to start earning his corn and I really hope he grows into the job because he is a likeable bloke who has / had brought some positivity back to the club after the last chap. It bugs me that Stoke have now taken our mantle of the ugly bastards that nobody enjoys playing, being a soft touch is shit. FWIW I reckon we could benefit from a more experienced coach sitting alongside him because he is still a young and relatively inexperienced manager. I have no doubt that he could be a good leader for the club but I also think he would defo benefit from a coach that has been there, seen it etc ...
HomerJay Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 shit performances against the big boys aside the only thing that really hurt was the norwich defeat. and if were gonna lose to chelsea, i expect a whole hearted, gutsy, performance at the very least, then a winniing one against wigan.
obbzi Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 If you look at the teams we have played and the predicted points total, I would have guessed we would be pretty much where we are now. I predicted a draw against QPR and a win against Norwich, losing all the others. No way should we be even talking about sacking Coyle, we have played a lot of hard quality teams, we need to be getting behind the team and the manager. It's way too early to start this sort of talk, a lot of games to be played yet boys!!!
marple whites Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Just heard a stat on talksport saying that Sunderland have only got 9 points out of the last 60 available. Now thats when you start worrying !!

jamie_gillis Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I'd wait until December before giving Coyle the boot (that's assuming he actually manages to win a match before December). It's been quite obvious for some time that he and his coaching staff are out of their depth, but it doesn't make sense to sack him this far away from the next transfer window.

If he's out of his depth then sack him, give the new manager time to assess the squad and target new players.
Gonk Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 We have 3 out of the last 33 available. Worse than Sunderland. Its time to start worrying. Half of those 11 Games have been against teams that we would expect fuck all from.
Sluffy Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Half of those 11 Games have been against teams that we would expect fuck all from. Therefore half of those teams we would have expected to get something! Norwich, Blackpool, Sunderland, Blackburn, etc. (Oh and 3 of those 9 points Sunderland have got came from beating us at home!).
newquaywhite Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 OC at least seemed able to inject some sort of a response after half time today. Of course the deep sense of shame that ought to have been prevalent in the dressing room might have had something to do with it too.
Zico Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Half of those 11 Games have been against teams that we would expect fuck all from. and the other half are the teams we now need to start beating I expected fuck all in terms of points from these opening fixtures, I didn't expect to concded so many, so easily, with little in the way of optimism that they can start turning things around quickly
RUREADY2ROLL Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 His signings in the summer have so far been attrocious NRC today let fat frank walk past him to score two goals - liability His confidence in Jussi and Bogden letting our best option to go to one of our rivals has really backfired. Bogden is awful and Jussi is past it. SKD once again like a carthorse Its going to take some to turn this round - Wigan will not be a walk in the park GET TO WIGAN AND GIVE YOU SUPPORT - BOLTON TILL I DIE
