Carlos Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Can someone tell me how many Klasnic goal are from the bench when defenders are tired and how many when he started? I don't think he does enough to work defenders, Anelka was superb at it, Ngog works them hard. Quote
Zico Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 And he's never going to be a goal scorer And that i think is the concern given he's the 1 in our 4-5-1 The game was crying out for 4-4-2 later on yesterday, we all know that's not playing to our strengths but with 10 games to go, the goals are going to have to start coming from somewhere on a more consistent basis as we cant rely on 10 minute productive cameos from klasnic every week. We know he'll score if enough chances come his way, but know we can't accommodate him from the start of a game So NGog needs to up his game and start scoring some goals, as holding the ball up well isn't going to keep us up Quote

frank_spencer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Skd was the 1 in our 451 during our most successful time and he's never been the most prolific goal scorer. Quote
jules_darby Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Ngog is quality He's up top on his own in a struggling team Smiley I can't believe your posts about Scouse fans; seems like you've bought into that "knowledgeable fan" bollocks Quote
Zico Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Skd was the 1 in our 451 during our most successful time and he's never been the most prolific goal scorer. It was often more like 4-3-3 and he had players like diouf, stelios, Nolan etc scoring goals and playing off his strengths, ie flick ons, hold ups etc The 5 playing around NGog have nowhere near the same amount of goals in them as the 5 that played around Davies during that successful time Which is probably why we're struggling with NGog only having scored two Quote
Athywhite_Mike Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Anyone seen the picture of Klasnic, Muamba and Rob Lainton in a bar last night. Looks like they celebrated well. Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Ngog is piss poor off the ball IMO, he puts zero pressure on the opposing defenders when they are in possesion and runs into the wrong areas when we are on the ball. On the ball he is OK until he gets in the box and then he struggles to put his foot through the ball. I would have no problem with Klasnic up top on his own if we had the right 5 in midfield, he blew Ngogs contribution out of the water with his 15 minute cameo. I got slated on here last week for suggesting Klasnic as he is our top scorer and today I feel he justified my comments. Spot on pal. Quote

cheekybwfc Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I only to happy to see klas react this way after scoring, the last thing I want to see is someone happy to be on the bench.. Quote
borntobe Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Mmm Ryo worked hard great pass for the goal didnt beat his.man till the last ten mins but can get better. Ngogg holds ball up cant pass cant score and mostly falls over gets better I doubt it got what hes got I reckon. IK lazy git at macc warmed up with his coat on hands in his pockets but boy the fecker can score. Muamba I reckon hes feckin about to much twitter. Coyle sort Muamba make a satement say its sorted move on. We are staying up!!!! COYWM luv ya Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Klasnic should never start a game as he is best in the last 20 minutes when the game is played at his pace and he does not offer enough to play 90 minutes, Ngog is doing a decent job up top on his own is a thankless task, once we get our strongest midfleld back and able to release another strike alongside Ngog I think you might see a differnt side of Ngog. Biggish Dave Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Klas is a great sub to bring on though I would give him more than 10 - 15 mins. Quality pass from Ryo too the goal, i've been impressed with the little Jap, theres more to come from him yet this season too. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) Klasnic should never start a game as he is best in the last 20 minutes when the game is played at his pace and he does not offer enough to play 90 minutes This 'his pace' theory is bollocks. He offers a genuine goal threat and is a far more intelligent footballer than he ever seems to get credit for. His ability isn't the issue. Unfortunately, the rest of the team isn't up to accommodating him, so we finish up roundly abusing the club captain while singing the praises of a marginally more effective younger version of the same player. DazBob Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) His ability isn't the issue. Unfortunately, the rest of the team isn't up to accommodating him, Exactamundo. We've got an absolutely outstanding finisher and a gifted 'footballer' in Klasnic. It's a crying shame that because he doesn't run 10 miles per game the rest of the team isn't good enough to warrant his inclusion. Edited March 12, 2012 by DazBobParr Quote

enzo gambaro Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) davies doesn't offer anywhere near as much as ngog he's turned into a sulking, free kick giving away, liability And the ball bounces off Ngog too much, and he wins next to nothing in the air. Nobody's saying Davies should be in the side now, but you'd think we'd replaced him with Ibrahimovic. Edited March 12, 2012 by enzo gambaro Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Enzo agree completely re Klasnic and Casino completely agree re SKD - there's some "top" sides could do worse than offer Klasnic a 1-2 year deal - if robbie fowler played for us in his pomp it would be exactly the same situation - if holden was fit you could go with 4-4-2 and give it a go with klasnic up front with Ngog but while mark davies is starting regular you need 4-5-1 Quote
marple whites Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Klasnic is an out and out goalscorer and probably the most clinical we have had for a while. Issue being he struggles to last 90 mins and is far less able to work a back line on his own. Ngog for me this season has been superb. Good control, quick feet, fast and works tirelessly. Playing up top on your own is extremely difficult, but the way in which he brings in the other players is excellent. Quote

What a player and MR Coyle is only going to make him better! Quote
Traf Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Klasnic doesn't work the back line, he doesn't defend from the front either. He doesn't track back quick/often enough. However, he scores goals. Let the midfield and defence defend. Let Ivan worry about scoring goals. Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Dont believe we can start Klasnic in a 4-5-1 formation with the players we have available at the moment. But we had two very ineffective wide men (OK Ryo did great for the goal) and another replacing Petrov on Saturday so maybe play only one wide man and start with Klasnic against teams we should be beating. Stick with the 4-5-1 in most away games and against top 6 teams. Against Villa, Blackburn and Wolves I would play him and Ngog because I believe their defences are very poor Quote
Casino Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 if you don't play davies at the head of the 5 man midfield you take half his game away we started with 2 up top in a game we should be winning (wigan) and never saw the fcuking ball i can't wait to see him/pratley/muamba playing right wing - it'll be a hoot Quote
