chief wiggum Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 For the first 15 minutes I feared the worst, but once we got going ( I think Spearing, Pratley & Vela started to close down their midfield players quicker ) we were very good & matched Everton. Every player did well, but I'd give special mentions to the improvements in Pratley, Ream & Sordell......and i've got to hold my hands up...Alonso was tremendous, even doing well defensively. Lots of reasons for optimism even after a defeat. Well done again Dougie. va va sums it up really. I was fucking gutted that we lost, but being gutted rather than angry and frustrated says a lot about that performance yesterday. Definite chink of light at the end of what has been a long tunnel.. WhitePrice Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I was in the ESL as usual but just below the boxes. Fucking crammed packed with Scousers giving it large every time they scored. Well done to the scousers that kept their heads down yesterday. One was sat next to the Mrs and didn't speak at all through 90 minutes. Less trouble than I thought but still a few scousers got ejected and took digs on the way down the steps. Quote

Juan.Kerr Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Best performance this season at home, by a mile. Very encouraging. Quote
DaisyHWanderer Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Lots of encouraging signs recently, seems that dougie's got a game plan which is something coyle lacked imo Quote
darrener Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Got to pin alonso down on a contract imo Could be worth a small fortune to us in a couple Of years. Quote
Eavesy Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Alonso. Hypothetically say he's currently on £10k week. We've offerred him £13k with a 15% increase when or if promoted. An increase based on 10 good games.... Fiorentina are offering £20k. If we offered him £20k now ... X52 weeks of the year...that's just over a million a year. With the option of increase if or when we get promoted. Financially it makes sense to give in and give him 20k rather than stumping up some cash for someone and having wages on top. Quote
Casino Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 seeing as you don't know what his team mates are getting paid and what is in their contracts, i don't think its over wise to speculate on the sense of paying him more than he's been offered maybe, freedman has another left back lined up who will be happy on 5k? can't get out of my head his dreadful performance against duff and lets not forget that everton 'have nowt down the right' yesterday was made for an attacking full back, which is alonsos strength and fook me, he was on top of his game, but defenders have to defend and i'm still to see him do that consistently Quote
Gumbo Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Really positive feeling after yesterday's performance. Alonso and vela were fantastic! As for grey marl joggers? Should only be worn on the sofa scratching nut sack watching fa cup football... I dislike Everton, scruffy horrible bastards! And can the AHM sit the fuck down and stop pointing and grunting! Most off putting for us in the padded rich seats! Quote

Ani Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Everton fans are cunts. Pablo is a cunt. I detest Everton fans. Quite like Pablo though. Imagine he is sat reading this and snigerring Rather than taking the piss he is if anything posting less, he hardly needs to come on here and try to make us look stupid, we are doing a good enough of that without his input.
