Leyther_Matt Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Just got back. Never criticising the Reebok again, ended up missing the first 15 minutes because of traffic and shit all parking spots, and then come half time they'd run out of ale, and even forks to go with the 'hotter than the sun' pies. Ashby de la Zouch is a cracking little town for a few pubs though. As for the game, Butterfield was utter bobbins, but tonight my ire is directed at Eagles for shitting out on the third goal and not closing him down when at the other end we had countless shots blocked because of defenders desperate to throw themselves at the ball to keep it out. That said, a cracking game and another great advert all round for the Championship. Quote
Krimzon Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 They've not won any of their last 5 so why should they win their next 3? Because they are a better team than the 3 they have to play.....yeah I know form is out of the window at this stage I just have a bad feeling and I think they will...........really hope Im wrong. Quote
bolton va va Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 A cracking game that could have gone any way & the last 10 minutes were tremendously exciting as we threw everything at them. Great effort. Butterfield did struggle & you could see the penalty he conceded coming a mile away but he got very little help & we did let in the winning goal after he had gone off so some of the abuse was OTT. That said, i'd have Ricketts back in now. N'Gog was excellent, a far, far better player since Dougie arrived & he started to try & stay on his feet....Chungy needs to follow suit, I thought he could have kept going for both 2nd half penalty appeals.....& Craig Davies was the best I've seen him so far,..a real threat though he still never seems to have the ball under control ! A shame, but we've still got it all to play for....3 wins for the play offs Quote
bolty58 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Wide open yet. We win at the weekend and one or two around us lose - pressure on teams changes etc. Still feel we will make it. I really hope we swap places with Wigan in the hope that smithills_cunt crawls back under a pie. Reconsidered this post. In order to avoid offence, I have decided to change it as per the bold bits Quote

Biggish Dave Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Yep In missus Jules' car Haha, you flew past me just onto the M1 too and I was at 90 at that point! Quality game given we played with 10 men and a hinderence for an hour. Ngog ran his nuts off, probably the best I've seen him. Vela did ok but still looks a little boy lost at times. All 3 goals should have been prevented though. Story of our season, needing to score 3 times all too often to get something from a game Quote
Smiley Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 No complaints about their penalty. Felt there was a foul on Dawson for their 2nd. Thought we should've scored when Davies headed over/bar/saved. Thought the first Chungy incident was a penalty in the 2nd half. And I'd like to see the Alonso incident again in the dying stages when he got tripped on edge of the box. Other than that, we gave it our all, but silly goals were conceded at the wrong times. Gutted we lost, but enjoyed the match all the same. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Not me, I've said before i think too many in this Bolton set up are losers.Whelan wouldn't give the likes of Knight and Eagles minimum wage jobs cleaning his gym toilets. Was Gartside pissed when he let his management give Premier League contracts to these? It's not over regards getting in the play offs but tonight tells me everything i need to know. This set up don't deliver when the pressure is on.Expect another bollockless Watford or Stoke if these get to Wembley. You obviously did not go to Leicester I've criticised this team for lack of bottle last night was not one of them occasions the hunger and desire was there for all to see a terrific performance which should have resulted in all 3 points, I'm prepared to give this team a clean slate, I think they deserve that with the performances in the last 3 months. Quote
Ratwhite Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Great night last night. Cracking following and support throughout the game. Result is a blip and changes nowt really. If all goes titis up in last three (six) what he says below.......... Been impressed with dougie so far. Give him the summer and a couple of quid to spend in the summer. We should have a better season next year. Sort out the away form and we will be laughing Quote

If they gave 100%, threw their bodies on the line, put their heads in where it hurt etc but still shipped in 3 at Leicester then they are being badly managed. If Freedman doesn't know how to organise a team away from home I suggest he watches DVDs of how Allardyce and Martinez have their teams set up away from home. The idea is to stop the ball hitting the back of our net.Letting it hit the back of our net 3 times against a poor, out of form team team like Leicester is awful Quote
enzo gambaro Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Tool. Suspected dislocated shoulder for Ngog. I'm not sure who suspects it - I'd have thought that was one of the easier injuries to diagnose. Spearing confirmed as fucked. Quote
jazza Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Great turn out Great game Great effort Shite team selection Butterfield will never be a player as long as I've a hole in my arse COYFWM. 3 points Saturday is crucial Quote

I think your award for 2013's Nobhead of the Year is absolutely secure. I am a fan of BSA but, you are seriously trumpeting Martinez as a defensive tactical genius? For fucks sake man, they have been cellar dwellers with last day heroics saving them on more than one occasion. If he is that good defensively, how come they are perennial bottom half dozen? You can't be serious. Must be an alter ego of a regular poster? Nobody can be that stupid................can they? Quote

Now I have admiration for how Martinez kept them up last year with their tough run in, his ability to find talented foreign players and their cup run this year but for fuck sakes they are not to be held up as the model clubs like us should follow. Once Whelan goes they will be in freefall and back in league 2 or 3. You seem obsessed with them. Quote
jazza Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 You can ease off now pal. I think your award for 2013's Nobhead of the Year is absolutely secure. Fair statement... Few contenders for that award, myself included Quote
Boltimore Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Apart from the fact I got pulled and 3 point for speeding on the way back Not forgetting the potential 3 points for the red light to!! Edited April 17, 2013 by Boltimore Quote
campo'swig Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 What on earth was Dawson doing for their winner??? At first I thought he had ducked under the ball but thought nah,on second look, that's exactly what he did. Can still do this tho! Quote
Adlington White Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Absolutely gutted last night, second half we looked a different team from the first. Dougie has the ability to actually see when someone is having a poor game like Butterfield (obviously) and vela and change it which coyle didn't have the ability to spot this. Having saying that I think dougie got it wrong first half playing those 2 in the first place and playing 1 up front when we have been winning games with 2 up front. Fair play to him he changed this Second half and we played much better. Not Craig Davies' biggest fan but he came on and played very well. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Smithills gent your argument would have more weight if you used ferguson as a winner and Man U instead of a club that is highly likely to be relegated, your constant reference to that shower of shit as winners is ridiculous to the extreme. Quote
Ani Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) we had no problems with traffic, parked 10 mins walk from the ground and got away easy. back in Leeds for half eleven. we even found a bar 2 minutes walk from the turnstiles that served us, meets smiths and andy d there. game was 'exciting' 'thrilling' 'end to end' etc etc but that si because neither team could keep the ball. sat with smiley and his comments sum up my thoughts on the incidents, CYL was pulled back. Ngog made a stupid challenge but if he is out it is a chance for Craig D to step up. Why Ngog checks back when running through on goal is a mystery he did it twice last night. More worrying is the lack of Wheater on bench recently, who is going to play when Dawson goes back. Losing three players from out 'best' 11 at this stage is a big ask, although thought Medo (mido ?) was top class again. I will never condone the treatment Butterfield was getting last night, but his performance came as close to justifying the reaction, he was awful, he looked poor against huddersfield and was miles worse last night. DF picked the wrong team once we changed we looked a lot more dangerous. We could be setting a record this season for points dropped from winning positions, to piss myself off am going to check now. I MAKE IT 32 POINTS WE HAVE LOST FROM WINNING POSITIONS THAT IS FUCKING MADNESS. Edited April 17, 2013 by Ani Quote
Smiffs Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 When charging £6 to park up, don't you think it would be good if the car park mon said 'thanks for your £6 but you do know we will shut the road for half an hour after the game so you can't move?' The cunt. Quote
DirtySanchez Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 To sum it up, decent game, butterfield is wank, I missed our first goal because I was having a pint, good to meet garrp and the others in wetherspoons, I'm now pissed, forgot where my hotel is, but know the name, but trying to convince the owner that if I orderded food by delivery could they deliver me too Well I got 'delivered'. Paid three quid for the privelage of getting a lift in a battered old fiesta that hadn't had an mot this millennium. Thing was I was only a ten minute walk away. It would have been easier giving me directions. Though I would probably have forgotten them as soon as I started walking. Quote
