Even more reason to leave the number of competing teams at 16 rather than expand the tournament to 24 teams. There's only so many countries that could accommodate that number of games, which seems to be the main reason for dividing up the games between different countries. The problem is that the host nations may not necessarily qualify for the final stages, so a country may end up staging games involving other nations, having failed to qualify for the tournament themselves. Germany have dropped out of putting Munich forward for the final in 2020 in order to boost their chances for 2024 for the whole lot. I for one think Germany is great after 2006 and by then i will be loaded.
