stevieb Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I know he's a loyal white and I can understand the preference for away games given his circumstances and the fact they are more fun but no home games? Fuck me! Bi E did better than that and lived in Germany for half the season and actively supports 17 different local clubs and sports. Quote

MickyD Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Special mention to white boy randomly popping up beer inspired today from London. Is that the guy with the inane grin and an obvious wish to be ejected for bringing attention to himhimself being either poised or high as a kite? Edited April 12, 2015 by MickyD Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Devils advocate... Sober Dan hasn't put a penny into the club all season. Yes he has. Quote
no balls Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Yes he has. As I understand it, away clubs only get a percentage of cup game receipts, not league. Quote
Estupendo Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 been decent banter with some of them for a long time. how the fuck did I end up in bolton today pompey on the train home....they love us Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 As I understand it, away clubs only get a percentage of cup game receipts, not league. If you buy your away ticket from the club, the club get a small part of that cost. As you mentioned, a higher percentage of the gate receipt on cup games too. It may be a small amount financially to the club, but a financial contribution all the same. If any of us lived 200 miles plus away from home, would we travel to all the away games? Boro, Blackburn, Rotherham, Ipswich, midweek, to name a few? Anyone's support at these games is better than the £3-400 sit on their hands supporters at home. And let's face facts, that 'financial contribution' is peanuts in the grand scheme of things, but it still seems to give people the thinking that they can say what they like. 'I pay their wages' being one of my favourites to laugh at. Support comes in many guises, financial, emotional, etc. But for me, attending in the first place is what really matters. Home or away. So well done Dan. I'll get off my soapbox now :/ Quote

Whites man Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Home clubs keep ALL gate receipts from home league matches. This change in the 80's was another step to having a handful of clubs dominate the league. Quote
