Cheese Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Imfuckingpartial??? He's swallowed every bit of ST propaganda And before it Holdsworth In fact, just about anything anti club he could get his gormless mitts on Has he? I know he's reported on both, but I've never read anything from him that indicates a preference either way. Maybe if some of the other 'bidders' held a public meeting like the ST did he'd give them more coverage too, but all the others are hush hush. He most likely knows a lot more than he's allowed to report. Quote

Cheese Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 ST have been more cloak and dagger than a game of cluedo They've revealed a lot more publicly than any other "interested parties" though, so they're bound to get more coverage. I don't see how the Bolton News should be expected to publish things they either don't know or aren't allowed to publish. Quote
Casino Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 He's peddled owt fed to him, chapter and verse without question He had 80 firms financially supporting trust as a headline 3 lines into the story and it was nothing of the sort He rubbished the Tamraz link It's not his fault he's numb, I suppose Still, he's an irrelevance so I shouldn't get worked up Big 72 hours Quote

Can't find it. Also the one where has he rubbished the Tamraz link? Honestly, you might be right about him, but that's not the impression I've got over the last few months. Quote

snowball Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 The Bolton News is the biggest pile of shit ever, embarrassing from the spelling and reporting on the front pages to the utter crap on the back pages. That 'exodus' story yesterday just more regurgitated pap to fill space and Iles has been totally clueless throughout, pitiful really. If Tamraz story has any credibility at all, then Iles has none. Never saw it coming. Would anyone notice if they swapped Iles for one of the 'crime' or 'politics'(i.e Bolton council) reporters, probably not they would have about the same insight. Quote
Casino Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Have you got a link to the "80 firms" story? Can't find it. sorry, it was 30 but the point stands http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/14241934.30_local_businesses_backing_supporters_trust_bid_to_buy_Bolton_Wanderers/ you then read the article and to be fair to the ST Richard Hurst, said: “We have a list of approaching 30 businesses that we think could be persuaded to invest money in the new Bolton Wanderers. Quote
Blondi Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Tamrez has apparently been dealing directly with Eddie, so this is perhaps why Iles hadn't a clue about him. Nixon is miles in front of Iles at times and Nixon can spout some bollocks. Quote

You said 80 and, even though the actual figure is 30, the article isn't anywhere near as sensationalist as you suggested. What about the one where he rubbished the Tamrez bid? Wait a minute, are we criticising Iles' journalistic qualities, or his personal views on Twitter? Either way, a link to when he "rubbished"the Tamrez story would be helpful. Mounts Kipper Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Interesting to read how Peter Kenyon has helped turned round Athletico the financing of transfers by third parties is a very interesting model any profits from sell on transfers being split between club and 3rd parties, also got some serious investors involved at Atletico. If he's involved with Tamarz bid as rumoured that would be a big positive for me. Quote

Wasn't that the fuss about Tevez? Quote
Cheese Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Already answered for you, no need for pedantic nonsense. Not really. You gave your opinion, but I'd like to see what that opinion is based on. Asking for evidence isn't "pedantic". Quote

Asking for evidence isn't "pedantic". 30 or 80 that 'could be persuaded'.it's still bollocks and saying nothing, typical Iles. I remember reading Iles being dismissive of Tamraz either in a tweet reproduced on here or in the Rag itself. Can't be arsed searching to satisfy a troll. The evidence is there every night, Iles is clueless the Bolton News a stinking pile of excrement Quote
Carlos Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Approaching 30 = 25 or so then. Metro Taxis, Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe, Derek's Carpets and Softy's Hard Stuff. Quote

Shouldn't take you long seeing as the evidence is there every night? I'm not even defending Marc Iles' ffs. Just asking why a few people on here think he's a shithouse. The only evidence offered so far is that he quoted the ST saying they had 30 local businesses potentially interested in investing (and even that figure was originally more than doubled by the claimant for some reason). As for the headline of that article - the writer of the article doesn't usually have any control over the headline. He might do, or he might not. Edited February 16, 2016 by Cheese Quote
snowball Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I just hope something remotely positive happens this Friday on the ownership front this limbo is getting intolerable. Then again if after all this time it's the ST that ends up being preferred bidder, can see it all kicking off and even more uncertainty and falling out. Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Iles still championing the ST, makes you wonder why ED is dragging his feet over this, but if they are his preferred bidders, then we'll just be going down th same route we are on now. If we go with Tamraz we could possibly go down the Cardiff/Leeds/Portsmouth road. If we go with the ST, the club will possibly have to take a couple of steps backwards, get stability then try something, I can't say Portsmouth have lit up the footballing world recently and their people advised our lot on how it's done, they've probably got better backing in theirs too. Dean Holdsworth bid scares me most mind. I'm not gonna worry, Eddie knows best Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Did anyone read the article by iles talking about gartside? PG wanted him banned from the stadium He spent a pre-season tour chasing them round scotland with only access to the management and players after the game Useless Wasnt the reason Iles was banned because he dared to question what was happening at the club? Gsrtside didn't like that and effectively stopped access, maybe that is why Iles does not get the info to this day from the club and why his offer in the Bolton news is not what it should be. We can't have it both ways he tried to question the club and they chopped his hands off. Quote

Was it not someone else at the Bolton News who printed a story about it? Iles then made several tweets saying it was nonsense. Then the next day changed his mind and printed his own story? Can't really remember and can't be arsed searching though tbh Quote
