Needs a lot of catching up to bury

That's a myth - went to Bury this summer, I've no idea why people go on about it. Its just as bobbins.

Should have seen my middle daughter's face when she was told it 'was good for shopping' 😁

Had to hightail it to Manchester!

Each to their own

for me it’s been improving year on year not just the shops but the accessibility plenty of parking options and food outlets

I can’t be arsed going into mcr as I rarely fail to get what I need in bury but the option is there with 20 min tram journey

Cliff Morris ducking off was the first step towards improvement

Slowly, very slowly, it’s happening.

But it will never be what it was. It has to offer something manchester doesn’t,

Well......

Ive just parked on a car park, bollings yard and walked to specsavers

Not impressed so far, though most units ARE occupied

Cadets selling poppies are good to see, but beyond that, I will need to explore further

Currently, on a damp winters morning, its not looking on the up

Prob pop to MnS and Debenhams later

Shopping is for women and homos. It’s rubbish for a pint.

It’s not a drinking place I give you that

its very much geared up to restaurants/ wine bar type places rather than lads boozing about

Said it before but if you're after a day out shopping you're just not going to get in to Bolton town centre for a day out.

Trafford Centre kills anything in its wake.

Middlebrook done some damage too.

Yeh that’s the thing though. Most of the development in the town is housing and offices. Town centres across the country are having to adapt to reflect the change in people’s shopping trends.

Indeed. Hope the investment works for Bolton. Like you allude to most town centres are in a slow death with failure to adapt.

Midweek office jockeys and weekend moochers are the key now.

They way Blackpool has gone, particularly round the winter gardens has been superb and with loads more to come. Great funding and its really working.

Hopefully Bolton follows suit.

Need to up the food offer in the wintergardens. I wouldn't serve at home what I had there, some god awful noodle thing.

Also closing at 4 seems a bit odd.
