Guest Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 The Checkatrade Cup dream is over Hopefully for another couple of decades Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 What a shame. So long as league form carries on then great stuff. Quote
gonzo Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I'm very happy to be going out. Just a bit of a ball ache for them who travelled but I suspect they have only gone for the new ground to tick off If you're that insane to go away to Cheltenham on a Tuesday night I doubt the result bares much relevance to be honest Quote

Rizlar Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Well it showed 1 thing tonight Proctor and Anderson can't score even against lower league opposition. Quote
bgoefc Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Checkatrade!!!!!!............checkatrade dot com! Its in my head from listening to Talksport your honour, thats wot made me do it! Quote
bolton va va Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 It's a relief to be out of such a pointless competition & i'd be happy to get out of the FA Cup as well . This season our absolute priority should be going for promotion, without cup distractions or risking injuries. Scunthorpe & Bratfud have already got a slight advantage over us by having a day off on the day we're playing Sheff Utd. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 One of those games where we created a ponful of chances yet never really looked like scoring. Penalty was admittedly up the other end but it seemed bloody stupid from Alnwick as their mon had taken a heavy touch and was going away from goal. Not overly arsed about being knocked out despite the 260 mile round trip but a little concerned that Taylor ©, Takeshi and the like won't provide much back up when needs must. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I'm glad we're out of this shitty cup, but as for the FA Cup, never want to lose in that. In fact, I think we will win it this year. Quote
SoberDan Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Not the end of the world. Be good to get out of the FA cup as well. HOWEVER I think we may now have a month like September in the league hope I'm wrong but I'm wrong but I fear the bubble has burst. Kudos to anyone loopy enough to go especially those from the North West Quote
Farrelli Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 We played Ok but fluffed our lines in front of goal. Probably a blessing in the long run. Excellent turnout, full credit to those who travelled from the north west. Quote

Kudos to anyone loopy enough to go especially those from the North West I really don't think bubble has burst we've best 2 centre half pairing by a country mile in this division that alone will stop any bubble from bursting. radcliffe white Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 as long as we came through without no injuries then great for me, call it game time for some . Sorry Dan but don't know where you see our bubble may have burst after a shitty cup game Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Obviously it's a common held concern that losing Wheater or Beevers for any period of time will seriously hamper us, so on last night's evidence it's worth mentioning that Buxton had a very decent game at centre half which is quite reassuring given Thorpe seems more likely to play in midfield. Quote
Traf Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Wheater shouldn't have been anywhere near that game last night. Quote
radcliffe white Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Wheater shouldn't have been anywhere near that game last night.that was my thought big risk, didn't he play against Grimsby as well? Quote
Traf Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 maybe they have to keep him active to avoid him seizing up? Quote
radcliffe white Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 maybe they have to keep him active to avoid him seizing up?aye like and old lawn mower I had, once running it was shit hot Quote
Spider Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 You need to take more drink/drugs, if you think that last night's game has any relevance at all. Quote
SoberDan Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 My thinking is Parky won manager of the month for August - the same month we lost to Blackpool and what happened in September. Quote
