Manchester_whites Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 My lad was in said nightclub. He was stabbed with a broken bottle. Edit = The lad who was stabbed, not my son. . Little Hulton lad got stabbed. Could be another Little Hulton lad who did it. Quote
bolty58 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Absolutley tragic. Someone know who the driver is, lets hope they have the balls to name them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-38483392 They found the car pretty quickly. Is the owner in the frame for this? Quote

madthatter Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Tiredness is also a danger, having a rake of ale on Friday and Saturday night, then driving home early on Sunday. Aye, years ago I was out in Stoke and long story short was awake all night after basically trying to pull a lass on her couch (I didn't but by fcuk she teased). Hadn't touched a drop for about 7 hours and after my mate nagging me drove back to Manchester in rush hour morning traffic. Got about half way and had to stop as I literally couldn't keep my eyes open. Had a couple of close shaves when braking too late. Swore I'd never do anything like that again. Stupid as fook really. That said, as others have mentioned I'm sure I would drive better than most I see out there after a few scoops - i'd back myself in that state over being tired any-day. Not that I'd drive after any more than a pint Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Problem is after a few scoops you always feel you'd be better than you actually are. At least when you are tired you become aware of it and have the capacity to stop. Both are dangerous. Quote

At least when you are tired you become aware of it and have the capacity to stop. Both are dangerous. No doubt. Mobiles are another mega hazard. Driving up to Bolton earlier this week a car in front (fast lane) swerved over both lanes and nearly hit the central reservation. This happened over a minute or so. Having my lad in the back I moved over to slow lane - turns out it's a young lass tapping on her mobile . . . Beggars belief Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Doesn't matter if you can drive like James Hunt (sober) and/or hold your ale like Ollie Reed, everyone's split second reactions are affected by even tiny amounts of alcohol... Take the test before and after a glass, can, pint, whatever.. http://dontriskit.info/drink-driving/test-your-reactions/ Quote

MalcolmW Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Irlams o'th' height? What a ridiculous name for a place. Thornton became Thornton-Cleveleys in 1927 to distinguish itself from twenty-odd other Thorntons, half of which were in Yorkshire. Quote
