Lostock Whites Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I agree, Sheffield definitely getting too much respect. The one thing I disagree with Parkinson is that we respect teams too much and sit off. We know we can beat them, twice in fact, they aren't a special team but have grinded results out better than most teams, mainly due to Billy Sharp up top. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Given the consensus that we don't play well when we have a big following, would you consider not going if it meant we would have a better chance of winning? A load of superstitious bollocks I know, but... Quote
Blondi Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Can't wait for this. Row S for us. Hope we sell plenty. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 You're right. It is Just reminded me of a few years ago, I posted a fact that my lad had never seen a goal, and therefore asked if I should keep him away from the play offs (we didn't get there in the end). Quite a few said don't bring him! I've got a feeling that the travelling army will be rewarded next week anyway. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Maybe I'm misreading jturner's post that last time we (Bolton) got out of the 3rd division (92-93) there were four teams better than Sheffield (presumably United but didn't state) Bolton, Port Vale, Stoke and WBA. I reckon that's as close to saying the five teams were all in the same division together otherwise how would you measure the four clubs' ability compared to Sheffield United?I didn't say the original post was sensible. I read it as a comparison between the current Sheffield United side and four teams from the same division 20-odd years earlier. Quote
