Didn't Sunak warn that her plans would lead to this?

Don't get me wrong I don't want him as PM but fuck me he couldn't have fucked it up anywhere near a quickly as she has.

He did but the Tory party members obviously didn’t believe him.

He said her plans were a fairy tale in one of the live debates. He constantly said tackling inflation was the only priority for the next few months.

He explicitly said the markets would react like this. Fair play to him he was a realist and whilst the tory PMs agreed in the main, their lunatic membership didn't.  He was always an outlier in the BJ government as he was actually reasonably competent.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Think the arrogance of that last statement sums it up for me.

I know it's not your words & to be fair there is something in the argument from your post. But you could still pick that argument apart on so many levels.

There are much fairer economic systems that we could be aspiring to. If the wealthiest don't want to pay more in times of crisis. Or let's be honest - even pay their tax at all - then we don't need them at the table.

If we told Shell or Amazon that they need to start paying corporation tax and they refused and left then good riddance. Another company would take the spot at the table and we'd have more money for public spending.

Yes, it’s a good job no posters on here have ever used similar phrases whilst trying to inflict opinions on others isn’t it?

He Did and Nobody Listened

TBF people did listen but only a select few had a say.

Watched QT and thought the Tory did well given the  circumstances of defending a fuck up. The fact 100% of the audience were worried about the impact however just highlights how far in the back foot the Tories are today and the latest polls are shocking. You can question the accuracy to some degree but even so

Actually looked a beaten man by the end of it but like you said under the circumstances he did ok and you have to have some respect for him going out there. Richard Bacon is a bit of a cock which helped him and it was interesting that after Bacons initial attempt to hijack the programme Fiona Bruce never went back to him for his opinion.

They certainly have... It exists on both sides in politics and I wouldn't defend it either way.

Still don't think it represents how our tax system works and I would be dubious to trust anyone that says they couldn't defend or explain the argument. Which is what that last sentence is saying.

Today, its 'oh look at the pound, was just a blip' forgetting what it has cost

Anyway. Dumb and dumber meet the OBR. Today

Only an utter loon would attempt to predict that one

Amazing how some are trying to paint this as a "recovery".
