The have nots could always apply for a better paid job.

The have nots are about 75% of the population at the moment. And one of the reasons the haves are doing so well is they are highly skilled and specialised so difficult to replace.

My mate had to close down his (fairly successful) seaside pub a few months ago when another place down the road poached his chef and the entire bar staff by offering them considerably better wages that my mate's business could afford to pay. Turned out to be a blag. The other guy kept them on until my mate was forced to hand back his lease (with penalties) then sacked them all (they were still in a "trial period") took over my mates lease and re-employed the ones that were desperate on their old wages.

Exactly the kind of shithousery Brexit has opened the door to.

That’s just capitalism at work.

Exactly the kind of Brexit bonuses Brexit has allowed.

I see the 'neutral' BBC are working overtime to try to spread any shit they can on Sunak. Highly predictable. Nowt of 'outrage' type significance likely to happen in British politics for a couple of years. Just a Sunak led retaking of ground to a level of respectability resulting in an election loss of a far lesser magnitude than recent polls would have suggested. That will do. Four years of Mr. Beige and loudmouthed, obnoxious flatdicks and then back to normality.

The US scene far more interesting at present. The mid terms should be a fascinating watch. See they have had to roll out Obama to try to rally the gullible (I wonder where Nancy is?). Not sleepy Joe's fault but many who don't think too deeply will apportion a lot of the blame for "high gas prices" and inflation in general to Biden and his cohorts so the Republicans could end up with a very strong hand in a few days time.

If it happens, The Don is likely to announce he is running very soon. As long as they don't start shooting each other, should be an entertaining and volatile time leading up to bommy neet 2024. Meltdowns amongst the Hollywood elite and staff of the 'Gray Lady' would be an added bonus.

I wonder if the sinister forces of evil will be marching on the streets protesting about Republican successes the day after the results are known just as they were the day after Trump was elected?

I reckon Brexit contributed significantly to the absence of a healthy catering sector labour pool from which he might have been able to recruit experienced and qualified replacements to keep the business going, but around here businesses are having to take on anybody they can find regardless of how lazy, undependable and feckless they are - and there aren't even enough of them - which is why so many businesses are closing down.

The same BBC who only 3 days ago ran a headline story about Albanian gangs crossing the channel.

As for Trump. #obsessed

Cash support

You’ll get £40.85 for each person in your household. This will help you pay for things you need like food, clothing and toiletries.

Your allowance will be loaded onto a debit card (ASPEN card) each week. You’ll be able to use the card to get cash from a cash machine.

Yep, as per page 2246 of this thread and elsewhere no doubt.

There's also a Tik Tok video doing the round of some fine Gammons harassing immigrants in a hotel suggesting they're paying for them to stay there, because "we pay tax"

1. Aye, course you do.
2. If we closed our borders and "sent the buggers back", do you think we'd pay any less tax?

Something wrong when they are better looked after than our own people.

  • free prescriptions for medicine
  • free dental care for your teeth
  • free eyesight tests
  • help paying for glasses

They're not working, are they?

Don't people on benefits get the above?

It is the appropriate response of a civilised and wealthy (although very skewed) nation.

We’ve UK folk who can’t afford dental treatment I’d rather they were at front of the queue.

If UK folk can't afford to pay and these migrants are getting everything for free, then that's your government's fault, not the migrants'

Yesterday you were saying those folk are only poor because they're 'lazy'.
