Nah not really Bit of on a non story from the Mail. All they've ended up doing is throwing one of their own under the bus. Any more questions? Lt. Aldo Raine
I can't really agree it's a non-story if there's evidence she might've committed fraud, no matter how hypocritical the people presenting the evidence might be She's a politician standing to be Deputy Prime Minster at the next general election and so should be held to a high standard
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 8 Site Supporter Share Posted April 8 Doesn’t help when she's one of the first calling for the heads of others for any wrong doing. Inevitable that opponents will come for her given the opportunity. Strangely, so far, that hasn't come from ministers to any great extent, but from the media. She does have form for maximising things on expenses- legitimately of course.

Think there was a localish Tory MP raising it but other than that it's been pretty quiet Maybe it might keep being pushed to get a reaction as she seems quick to fire off against any criticism, bit like Prescott was when he was deputy Her response that she will release her tax affairs as soon as Tories do wasn't the best response if they want to make out they are behaving properly

It was investigated by the Police who said there was nothing wrong. Then the millionaire non dom who made the original complaint said it had not been investigated properly which the Police are obliged to investigate. Why if the Police say there is nothing wrong should she have to react ? Unless I have missed something ?

If she's done nothing wrong, then it is a non story, but the press, and especially The Mail will be going after her as hard as they can. If it's found that she's done nothing wrong, then I'm sure they'll apologise accordingly 😁 We need more MPs to be held to account, if they are taking the piss.....sadly, it seems, The Mail don't go after MPs from both sides, with such vigour. If she is found of wrong doing, then kick her out of the party, and give her a bit of prison time, and send the message that moving forward it won't be stood for. I'm not sure I've suggested she has to act But GMP conduct investigations on the evidence available and are now reassessing their decision to close the investigation in light of new evidence She may be found not to have committed any offence, but my comment was addressing the sentiment that it doesn't matter if she has committed fraud because it pales into insignificance compared either to Lord Ashcroft's tax evasion, or the behaviour of Tory MPs

I wonder if The Mail was so vocal when Zahawi owed millions, probably not Ignorance is a defence when it comes to tax evasion apparently so if HMRC reckon she owes what is reckoned to be around £1500, pay it and its a non-story

Not in Crawley
This is the tip of the iceberg, if Labour get into power it'll be this sort of stuff constantly - they are going to have to get used to the attack dogs and those who like to swallow a ton of Mail propaganda.
