He's convinced I live in (or am from) Chorley for some reason. I can only imagine I mentioned being there once, and he wrote it down in a little notebook.

I haven’t even lived in Bolton this century.

There is at least one negative every week. There is no need to scrape the barrel but you might like to do so and give us a Brexit benefit

The Standard was a grim read last wednesday - the cover staring out from every news stand seem to sum up the mood.

Boom!

Unless 'we' live thoudands of miles away having bottled it  but preach to those who stayed fight the good fight

#expatsrus

Reminds me of Churchill's famous post-war speech when thousands left a struggling UK for a 'better' life as he pleaded;

'I say to those that wish to leave our country, ''Stay here and fight it out.'' If we work together with brains and courage, as we did in days not long ago, we can make our country fit for all our people. Do not desert the old land.''

And one of the unforseen consequences for this emigration was Surprise, Surprise's final segment....'you haven't seen Dot since she left for Canada aged 2, you thought she'd been eaten by Timberwolves but no, she's now a successful land-owning property developer, whilst you're a dinner lady on the Wirral....'

So I don't leave Mounts hanging. A good maximum sample size is usually around 10% of the population, as long as this does not exceed 1,000 to give you a 95% marginal of statstical error - ie you're in the margins of this is sample is representative of 95% of the population. Adding in more does not make the sample size more robust or increase the margin of statisical error.

Here's a nice table I've found which shows how it works basically;

To be fair to Mounts, its a really common mistake to make that by simply increasing the size you get a more robust sample, the way to think about it away from numbers is when you did earth sampling at School by having a 1mx1m square throwing it on the school field and then sampling what was in it ie types of life to extrapolate the bio-diveristy of the whole field.

Anyway, that's what my 3 1/2 years working in an audience research company alongside some ridiculously bright data scientists taught me and why you see YouGov and Ipsos working at to these numbers for binary sample questions. The data scientist team now earn a fortune working for PWC.

So for balance (and back in the real world)

Nichols continued: “At that time, the Government said they did not believe any reforms were necessary, but it is something I continue to have raised with me by my constituents and will continue to raise with the Government accordingly so that this can be an option available to bereaved families should they so wish.”

Has Rishi really had a £1k bet with Piers Morgan about sending folk to Rwanda?

Yep, piss poor optics because it really is in bad taste. You expect it of a cretin like Morgan but Sunak should know better.

They could have blacked her up and put her in a wheelchair, tick every box at once.

typical half-arsed Labour approach

Your insistence that I live in Wigan has to be one of the strangest things in your head.

And it’s up against some stiff competition

Well you fucking started it.

More accurately people who lived their lives as a different gender than they were born with should have the right to be recorded as that gender when they pass away.

Phew!

I wondered if we would try to consult them.

This was an interesting 'sort of related' story. The irony of the NUFC owners and the woke insanity of the Premier League come to mind.

Not sure how to take this response but, hopefully, we are on the same side on this one?

Yes

If the club don't like her views fine, if it's an issue for them and they want to ban her, that's also their perogative

But They shouldn't be creating dossiers that involve her dog walking routine because of her views on trans gender

I hope the police laughed at them and told them to fuck off whilst tossing the dossier in the bin

Her views are legally held and the club has no business in banning her in my opinion

There's a sickening irony given who owns the club as well
