No way she's the leader by the next election. Under even the mildest scrutiny, she can become aggressive, lashes out and starts speaking utter shite. Her comments about autism were shameful. Total liability and another Tufton St shill to boot.

Tories haven't changed a bit.

Read up,

Appears she has zero experience of people HAVING to ask for reasonable adjustments.. spoiler alert, they rarely get them..

I have "reasonable adjustments" in work to help me access the workplace, but it's a cultural thing rather than a written set of things, as workplaces need to be intrinsically inclusive. If you ask for things on paper, it's too easy for large companies to say they are not "reasonable"..

Good speech by Starmer this morning regarding solutions to immigration issues across Europe.

Sensible and calm. It'll never catch on.

Boring cunt

He just keeps turning up for work and working.

Cant bear it

What would be your preferred instant solution?

On R5 this morning

Nicky Campbell phone in

Lots of calls coming in regards immigration

Next topic

Let's talk about the new Tory leader

No one called or text in

They had to make a point, twice, that no one was calling before someone called to talk about it

Seems no one really gave a shit

October 24 was a high month

But less than October 22

The announcement of an extra 73 million in addition to the 73 million already to help the boarder forces and in cross European partnerships in rooting out this problem is a fair old decent step.

His calling for other countries to do more certainly was also pointed.

But imagine doing all that in a really dull, diplomatic way instead of a bunch of dog whistle nonsense and going out of our way to piss off our closest countries.

As has been mentioned, it'll never catch on this prime ministering

Mild as down here on the Kent coast as well.

However, we allowed every Ukrainian who wanted to come to come

Way more than small boat crossings

And theres loads of countries they couldve stopped at first

Its still not pleasing many lefties though is it

Its still looking at stopping the flow rather than us being a welcoming safe haven where they can have a better life

So the tories giving 500 million is dog whistling nonsense yet Labour giving 73 million is a fair old decent step?

I wonder how many Ukrainians took the trip to exploit our benefit and asylum system?

There was piece on the BBC last week about the amount of Vietnamese that are coming over.

Great at cultivating apparently...

Couple of things. Were many of the Vietnamese, Chinese, Albanians, Nigerians, Eritreans, Iranians getting bombed making them want to come here?

We didn’t allow every Ukrainian who wanted to come here in. Many were refused visas.

They applied to come here so they couldn’t have stopped off anywhere first

It's pleasing a lot of left of centre and centrists- which is where I think you have to govern this issue from to get any sort of handle on it.

You're not looking for majority consensus from those on the more intransigent wings of either party,  but practical solutions to this problem which has become intractable and one of the rocks any government can become stuck on.

Indeed

But that same month the number of crossings this year surpassed the number of crossings in the whole of 2023 and we have to reverse that trend at some stage

I wish them well as I suspect the Tories' calamitous attempts to deal with the issue concealed just how difficult a task it is

Increased funding is definitely welcome, but how far does that figure stretch in this day and age?

As you say its about where it's spent but the outline plans look positive - as I say, I believe it's step in the right direction after quite a lot of ill thought out non plans, silly slogans and ultimately targets not met.

The money the Tories "gave" was mostly for the Rwanda Scheme, which was absolute dog whistling nonsense, while they basically put the Home Office on shut down. What would be your preferred instant solution?

As I've said before, pay the smugglers to be border guards. If they're making as much coin as before, they won't give a toss - and they know all the tricks of the trade. Morally indefensible, but then so is Wales and we put up with them.
