Frogs Leap 2014 Zinf is squeezed from the juicebox of the Gods.

Better with age? Like any vintage, there's less of it the more time goes on.

Correct S.....and a Frog’s Leap is always a good jump.

My missus had a car one one of those "give it back after 3 years" deals.

It's due back in a few weeks.

Were going  to sell it and pay the remaining amount instead as we'll probably end up with some spare cash. So, all good there.

Now, who's best to use for a similar deal? I'm not using Fiat again as they're a tub and bucket shower of fucking retards.

Anyone on here do this for a living or had a good experience with a broker/dealer?

We've got a monthly budget and she has a rough idea which car she wants. Well, she does after I pointed out that if she wants a Range Rover she'll have to go on the game.

Thanks in advance.

I would have thought that, as the end of the world is coming at the end of March, you'd be holding off?

We got the Mrs a new car nearly 2 years back, went round all the dealers just after the new reg came out asking what new cars they had immediately available with a big discount

Dealers have targets set by the manufacturer so they can register a load of cars before the reg changes to hit their bonus then sell them off at cost

We got a Renault Kadjar list price £23k (inc servicing pack) for £16k. Put it on a 5 year loan with HSBC at 3% (£250 a month). 2 years on and it’s still worth circa £14k according to Auto Trader

They make a shit load out of these PCP deals as well, we played it like we would take their finance deal to drive the price down then switched to a personal loan near the end to save money that way

P.s Carwow is a fantastic web site

If you are buying used get it before end of month. Best deals to be had then as sales managers just want them out the door to get their sales figures up. I work in a prep centre in a big car supermarket and it’s my busiest time month end.

Car agreement finishes 1st of July. It’s a PCP, gonna use it for part ex and get another. Currently have a Hyundai tucson that likes to spend all my money on fuel. Be glad to get rid of the fucker.

Anyway, I’m thinking of a hybrid plug in as I do shit loads of little journeys with my job. Any suggestions?

Thankyou please.

I've had a Kia on lease that finishes this summer. The staff and service at the Middlebrook place are bob on, so I'm tempted to get another. Lass there has their electric one and swears by it for frequent short journeys.  I had it for a day when mine was in for a service, it was a belting drive but I do too many long journeys to consider it as a serious option.

The staff at Middlebrook couldn’t be less helpful when I tried to sort out the lease on the car of someone who had died.

They might as well have pointed at me laughing whilst flicking v’s, the unsympathetic twats

Hybrid is definitely the way forward... Toyota and Lexus are definitely up there. I have been using a Lexus CT Hybrid as my daily for 7 years, now done over 140,000 miles without missing a beat... averages 52 mpg, more if just bibbing and bobbing around town

I'd agree, if doing lots of small journeys, then I think Hybrid is the way to go - doing a lot of longer journeys, maybe not so much, as you're then lugging a fucking heavy battery up and down the motorway. If you're doing more than 200/250 miles a day, then I'd be sticking with petrol/diesel only around 100/150 miles a day, then maybe EV is feasible, provided you can charge at home of course

I only do 20-30miles per day but like I said lots of little short journeys. Charger is do problem. I have an electrician who I do sexual favours for.

I can wire a plug by the way 😉

Don't touch a hybrid under those circumstances.

Pointless, and there have been concerns raised over the legitimacy of fuel economy claims. Iirc the EU launched an investigation some time back.

The idea of a hybrid is to combine electric for small, slow journeys, and ICE for longer ones.

Electric is by far at its most effective around town, at low speeds.

They're cheaper to service and run, and batteries are now being found to last far longer than was first believed: in part by a view that the testing procedure is unrealistic.

Virtually all your charging will be at home, allowing maximum savings to be achieved.

My mileage and use is basically the same as yours, and my electric van will yield a greater range than quoted in the warmer months- drive them gently and use the regeneration and you'll get maximum possible range.

In winter, obviously, your range will drop.

Using the pre-warm function when plugged in at home on a winter's morning is a godsend too. :)

I agree with TMGJ, sounds like a full electric vehicle would suit you perfectly BB.

I have a plug in hybrid and I like it but I also need to do long distances every other week. If I didn't then full electric would be the way to go, especially if you can always charge at home.

Same as you. Average about 1000 miles a month. Lots of short journeys with the odd long one every so often so works well on a plug in hybrid

Mrs bimbles around locally most of the time with the odd journey to Leeds or Barnsley. She went full electric and has saved an absolute fortune. Just about to swap out for a BYD which looks interesting

Twilight zone moment yesterday. Coincidences.

Travelled all the way (3 hour flight, one hour drive) to a backwater town in South Australia to buy a classic car.

Italian heritage bloke who is a professional musician (drummer in a blues/rock band popular in the home state and Victoria) selling it to make space for 4 more Triumph motorcycles (already has 9 classics).

After a couple of minutes he asks "Whereabouts in England are you from?" Answer delivered  to "I don't fucking believe it. I'm going there in two weeks to stay with the wifes sister and b-in-law. He works in the Town Hall and is a local historian. He's taking me to the Man & Scythe for a pint of cider followed by a pastie from some famous pie shop or something".

It's a small world. He then goes on to tell me where his family originates from. Same Italian town as my missus' family. His missus is a dental nurse - same as mine.

Purchased the car. Omens.

He’s done his research and got you hook, line and sinker there mate.

what a salesman! 😉

Absolutely not mate. He did not need to 'sell it to me' one iota. Like it came off the production line in 2002. It's on a ship on Tuesday from Adelaide to Fremantle. Can't fucking wait to get me hands on it.

Now if you meant me with that line, you are quite correct.
