Where did Peely Feet disappear to ?

Left because he said this thread was too political, which it is. Sad really. He was the only one who made any sense of this. (apart from Kent and other NHS people of course)

I'd say no chance

They'll leave us as we are and leave London in 2 as its 'only for a few days'

Speaking of which, I'm currently watching the select Committee on virus with whitty and Vallance from earlier.

The comments by Vallance re curfews need to be watched/heard in the round.

He explained that modelling such things is very difficult and has errors. Also explained the reasoning behind countries doing it as a policy decision to reduce amount of time people were mixing.

How effective it is, not sure, but the thought behind it makes sense.

I can accept that

But, once you know that, dont be too quick to kill off businesses based on the results

Ta.

So a reduction from 130 which I think it was about a fortnight ago. It seems like we might have a way to go yet.

Aye, reckon so.

Obviously takes time to drop, moreso than the cases themselves.

After next week's review, further reviews are supposed to be weekly. Might get a present for Christmas, but might wait until after.

If you dont know accurately, do you take chances that it might not be so bad, and risk doing a bottom bull, or do you take a more cautionary approach?

Given accusations of not acting quickly enough previously, you can understand the curfews. Especially as fundamentally, the longer you mix with folk the more risk you have is accepted as fact.

The alcohol factor is important too, hence meals over ale.

What on Earth happened with wales and their lockdown?

The Welsh are also trialling the new and very accurate LFT tests. If successful there, expect us all to have them.

Yeah - we might still see someone get full anaphylactic shock at some stage - but the chances are small. And even smaller now these less severe cases have been highlighted and the guidance has changed.

What's happening now is normal - we just need to keep an eye on it and figure out whether the rates are any higher than we'd usually expect.

Definitely no need to panic! 🙂👍

There was an interesting snippet on BBC breakfast yesterday where the guest virologist stated that Aspirin wouldn’t pass the current testing standards because of the possible side effects.

Just popping in to go against the grain and say I hope London isn't in tier 3 for Christmas...

All that will happen is the cunts who live there will move 'home' for Christmas and spread their filthy cockneyvirus to the rest of us

We'll have a third wave in the spring. They'll not. Media will call us dirty northerners again.

Stay in London. Have avacado on toast as your substantial meal. Wash your shit hipster beard

That's interesting - because of the risk of bleeds and the gastro effects?

I love it when they get the real experts on the news. They're about the only people on telly who aren't afraid to say 'we don't know' or 'we don't have sufficient evidence to tell you one way or the other'.

They'll also give an unequivocal yes or no answer when they are able to.

Makes a refreshing change listening to real scientists in a world of spin.
