Where the fuck is that?

I don't know, but as its on twitter, it was probably filmed months and months ago, but tweeted today and will be taken as absolute fact that it's only just occurred

The lab capacity was always going to be the issue with testing as the test stands and everyone involved will have always known this from the very start, do you know if anything been done to remedy this anywhere along the line?

I only hear rumours as I'm not in microbiology. What I've been told is that the test isn't straightforward and needs to be done by hand - and we just don't have enough lab technicians and lab space to process a huge amount of tests. Even though they are working really hard.

We're set up to process usual fluctuations - but nothing on this scale.

I think the hope is that a newer, simpler test will be developed that gives a quicker result. Until then - I'm not sure how it's possible to dramatically ramp up testing?

Another point - if you added all those who sadly died in care homes or at their own home - I reckon you could safely double the number of people that are dying each day. All that is being reported at the moment is confirmed positive cases that have died in hospital.

Kenny Dalglish is in hospital and has tested positive, apparently hasn't displayed any symptoms and still isn't just happened to be tested as he was in there for something else.

Hopefully he pulls through

I’m 99% sure it’s what my dad died of a few weeks ago now. Looking at what symptoms he had and how he died of a pneumonia type illness I’m pretty sure that was what did for him

how many more have died earlier this year of pneumonia which was actually Covid?

Unfortunately you might be right pal. Makes you wonder how long it started before China started to report it.

Yep every new illness will have a period where people mistake it for something else that they are aware of. The numbers we have already seen could be a lot higher

but I’m actually confident that apart from the minority of dickheads we are doing the right things and we will beat this and come out stronger

Aye, it’s a good job we don’t have an ageing population like the Italians, don’t live in large family groups like the Italians  and hug and kiss each other like the Italians eh?

Or slap arses as you walk by

The main aim is to keep supply over demand, so the strategy is currently working.

I’d hate to see it not work.

Call me a massive fanny, but I’d much prefer the main aim was to minimise deaths.

Of course, but until we get a fire or a vaccine, the objective is to be able to manage people through to recovery or death.

its a bastard disease
