200k by mid May apparently. That may be politically motivated of course and will be subject to scrutiny by WW’s best sceptics.

what will that be 70,000 tests and 130,000 posted by mail ?

Keep up. Even the most sceptical (English spelling) concede that 80,000 confirmed tests have been carried out. By mid May, perhaps 150,00 and 50,000 posted?

Surely that’s a good thing?

Friday night positives..

120k tests have been issued today! Great work by all involved to hit such a high figure. Rumours are that Boris has taken the weekend off to celebrate..

KFC in farnworth is now reopen for take out alongside 99 others..... it took all of half an hour for people to start kicking off outside..

Similar.. Burger king have reopened some restaurants (350 by the end of June) for take away and McDonalds are opening 15 stores within the next 2 weeks -

Intu are threatening legal action over stores who are not paying their rent, the companies refuse to negotiate....  I think the word here is Karma (can't stand intu)

Pubs are planning for when they are reopened.. I've had a job book today cleaning the benches in a pub, ready for reopening, when it's time to .. WOO!

Oh, and I managed to secure a full - time permanent teaching job this week, which was nice.

Ah, now the work starts...

Good luck fella.

Read something earlier about this and the antibody test.  Apparently only one firm on the stock exchange is close to being perfect on these tests. Firm is ODX, signed a huge deal i think with Astra Zeneca, once green light is given, they'll be doing 49k a day. Firm is called ODX....currently 65p a share, but will be many multiples of that once they start doing their testing kits.....accuracy rate is 98%, pretty sure it's the one Peston mentioned on tv.

The other share i tipped on here re COVID19 was NCYT, their rise was staggeringly stupendous.

I didn't invest in those though.

But then your lot would've moaned at that too......

Ironic how some folk moan re the death figures not including care homes etc, originally just those in hospital.......yet moan yet again when the tests includes all tests, and not just those in hospital.

You'll find mate, it is the same type of moaning bastards all the time.

As a rule, I detest WWII references, but I want to wheel one out.

Do we think Churchill and his cabinet got this much shit when taking on the Nazis???

Suspect not.

We are basically on a war footing so whilst they should be scrutinised, they should also be cut much more slack than usual when dealing with this particular enemy.

I guess our relatively privileged position means it’s going to happen. We’ve been asked to sit down whereas back then we’d have been sat in a ditch in Normandy eating soil butties.

Vera Lynn didn't get her puppies out either.

Hardly any of the tests are being done in hospital. Other than that your comparison is rubbish.
Anyone pretending not to be surprised that tests include ones posted out rather than those completed is lying.

Do nt we all want reliable and accurate numbers ?

Picked up my chippy tea tonight and the owner is National president of the chip shop association, anyhow he said the business department of HMG contacted him to instruct his members to reopen all their chip shops, looks like unlocking the lockdown has started.

The two-metre rule is reportedly due to be reviewed after growing evidence that it's not necessary. That will probably help a lot of businesses, and particularly schools.

So then, this evidence......why all the fuss then originally  ?

What were your views on the government at the time when everyone was calling for it but our BJ and Co didn't implement it ?

B&Q sell decent shovels for that hole you're digging.

What were your views on the government at the time when everyone was calling for it but our BJ and Co didn't implement it ? My views then are the same as they are now - that the Government was acting on the advice they were given

B&Q sell decent shovels for that hole you're digging. What hole?
