Not in Crawley Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 If I lived in the North West, I'd be behaving as we did in the first part of the lockdown. Look at the local numbers, our borough from being near the top for the first six weeks has hugely dropped. Quote
radcliffe white Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Lockdown finished in the north west weeks ago weather hasn’t helped but same for other regions Quote

This info is 2 weeks old by the way, so the impact of the bank holiday hasn't been measured yet. There's been proof of this for 2 weeks. We're just too fucking slow. They'll do fuck all until they see consistent rise in hospital admissions and deaths I think. I'm convinced we wouldn't be lifting restrictions if this was happening in London. All they had to do was wait another 2 weeks. Wigan council have extended school openings by another week, to 15th, lancs saying maybe 15th, liverpool still no date. I don't know about many primary schools in Bolton but the one near me had a meeting on Monday and decided not to open till June 15 at the earliest. It's stayed open all the time for essential workers children. Kids in the 4th form at Canon Slade are getting 2 hours a week for the rest of the term. Quote
radcliffe white Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Hancock reckons plans in place for regional lockdowns if needed Quote

Burnham's numbers yesterday was from stats published by liverpool school of tropical medicine modelling for 24th May. Today's numbers have come from PHE and Cambridge uni study. They're all saying NW is slightly over or under 1. The deaths in NW hospitals for almost 3 weeks has also shown the same pattern. Care homes around here have dropped a lot, which has reduced the deaths, R number and hospital admissions. The info I've been reading suggests deaths in the community, with transmissions outside of care homes has been flat for 3 weeks. Hancock is saying we need to work out where the infections are happening and deal with the outbreaks accordingly Quote
Spider Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 11 weeks and one hour since I last had a pint in a pub. Quote

peelyfeet Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 We should be testing people without symptoms in NW NHS trust areas with the highest recent hospital admissions. If there's spare testing capacity we could be catching asymptomatic people. Quote

Casino Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 And when asked whether the delay in specifying the use of ppe in hospitals was due to a shortage he said not I'm calling bullshit There's still not enough for your local GP surgeries And you must isolate if your colleagues have it...unless you're a cabinet minister? And he will shut down plenty GPs if/when our world leading track n trace kicks in Quote

Peely has explained care home r value drop, so can only be in the community. I've had kids camping out/ building fires in the woods behind us. Feral twats walking round with cans of ale like they're invincible- a badge of honour that they're not following guidance. Dopy cunts going on marches now with no distancing. Irrespective of whether you think the government could have done better, the infection rate came right down initially, and then gradually people started fucking it off and now the rate is creeping up again. Also suggested some that folk aren't asking for tests if they have symptoms, as they don't want to isolate. Not sure if true, but can't say I'd be surprised. 10 days or so until lad is supposed to be back in school. I shall be watching the figures closely now this has happened- if it continues its trend he won't be back. I've managed well and been busy so far, but if children of the corn full of infection return in his cohort, I won't be risking him coming come with a dose and me potentially losing the rest of the season. Fuck that. Quote
Spider Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Herd immunity innit. Hospitals can cope with these little rises in the infection rate. Thats the gamble folks. Quote
