Said it before, they’ll be throwing roadblocks up around the town by October.

If the report that the lockdown had little effect on reducing the virus in the North West is true then you may be right.

Girl I know had to take her daughter to Dundee for a test 130 mile journey.   Is what it is. You need a test you go where one is available or wait.

Spoke to a woman on the phone regarding my self-test kit registration. I asked the question about why, when there’s a testing area in Bolton, are folk being offered Blackburn. Apparently, rather than doing a test and booking it in, thus making a further slot available, many test centres will do a number of tests; 10, 20, whatever the number, and then input them all at the same time which creates an equivalent number of testing slots.

She said that if you get offered a test centre too far away, try again in five minute intervals. It’s just that Bolton is fairly busy currently.

My lad goes to uni next weekend so I'm guessing a lot of others will as well. There's loads of overseas students coming over and the policy is that they have to self isolate for a fortnight which seems sensible. Then you realise they are isolating in halls of residence and the like which seems a lot less sensible.

99 cases per 100000 here now. Kinell, its really shot up.

Got one of these electronic signs on new lane. Immediately beyond it feral kids en masse in the road, outside shops, in gardens. Like a coronation.

Get the TV cameras up there and some bobbies and fine all the parents. Or seal the area.

When all this first kicked off, travellers were placed in isolation wards on Wirral. What happened to those?

they can't leave their rooms - they're not supposed to be wandering round. Food is brought directly to their room from the canteens.

None of them have been told that where my lad is going and there are no food facilities on site apart from the kitchens shared between rooms.

same in another place, UKC and Christ Church I know of - apparently outside caterers are being brought if there are no kitchens on site, or coming from the SU. They shouldnt/can't leave their room for two weeks.

Think you are right and I was talking bollocks/getting the wrong info from the lad.

If the students did it properly the uni sorted them out with special quarantine flats 2 weeks before the official start so they would be clear by then and could crack on in whatever way everyone else is.

Yeah - UKC has a high % of overseas students and there was special provision for them - other houses off campus as well apparently.

They should all be clear before the start of the first term i believe. Its been a bit grim for some of them but overseas students are a huge market for unis so its been in their interest as well to treat them right.

Is this the overseas kids or the ones from Bolton?

Had one idiot ride right out in front of me yesterday evening. Probably about 6 or 7. No cycling ability nor sense. Going to take a different route from now on.

You’re lucky it was a kid at least in semi-control. I’ve driven down there and car tyres come from up the hill.

Is the dartboard still in the front garden, behind which, kids are playing?

Interesting point, I only heard about those who had to from places where you had to isolate for two weeks from anyway.

If places have local strict lockdowns then I suppose itd make sense. Or just stay at home for two weeks - you do nothing for at least a month anyway!

How things have changed

Yeah mine were so shit they pulled them down. But if you're coming out with 50k worth of debt you can expect a bit more than a bed, a desk and a sink.
