Div.3's relegation zone is far too tight to be comfortable about this lot getting relegated.

Just have to believe the Administration ... & all that goes with it ... will get them.

Another defeat, but it is as tight as a bull fighters underpants.

the teams just above the zone just don’t seem to be picking up points and then every few weeks Wigan get a belting result.

When do they get the 15 point punishment?

When the jokers buying them try to get them cheap (£1.5 million instead of £3 million) meaning can't pay the creditors the minimum allowed. Boom 15 points.

Next best outcome after liquidation. Got rid of a raft of young players Monday to bring the likes of Proctor in. Going down at best.

Yeh, i thought it was summat like that. I remember the EFL dishing out strict deadlines to us when we were trying to complete our takeover. How come there hasn’t been any such deadlines with Wigans takeover?

They had the points deducted last year and have not come out of admin since. Not sure how they can lose more points unless they can not play games

Because so far they've been able to pay their debts

Is there not a penalty for each season you compete under administration?

If not, there should be.

EFL rules  dont allow a club to start 2 successive seasons in Administration - they will be thrown out if not bought

Going slightly off subject - has anyone looked at the Burnley takeover situation

Great piece in the Guardian on it under the headline

Burnley's US takeover has left club £90m worse off and loaded with debt

Quite a sobering read - god help them  when (and it will happen) they get relegated

That'll soon happen when Dyche decides to move on. He's their Allardyce.

Yes, it hasn't gone down too well here in E. Lancs.

Much anger is directed towards Mike Garlick, as he sold his shares in full knowledge of how the takeover was to be funded.

Comparing Burnley to Man ure is just ridiculous. The turnover is nowhere near comparable and although the numbers at Burnley are smaller, the costs needed to retain PL status for any club are substantial and can’t be ignored. Previously, if Burnley were relegated, without debt and cash in the bank, they would be in prime position to bounce straight back without wrecking their team. Relegation now with debts like that would be catastrophic. It will be interesting to see what interest rate for the loan is being charged to the club but either way, if you were a Burnley fan, you couldn’t be confident on this turning out well in the long run.

I mentioned it earlier on in this thread. Their new owner/chairman seems a right "character". It doesn't bode well for them in my opinion.

They lose another 15 points if the new buyers don’t cough up 25p in the £1 to the creditors.

After exiting administration they will have to pay unsecured creditors either:

25p in the pound within 2 years, or

35p in the pound within 3 years

Same could be said of us, or any other town team really,

Like we have said before though you would be getting some serious football history with our club, from a football town also.

I'm not sure these foreign types are remotely arsed about the "history" of the clubs they buy. Some, if they're daft, may know that Wigan fairly recently won the FA Cup, and we haven't won anything for over 60 years, and see that as their marker for success.
