He’s on his holidays but his relationship is 100% broken but some on here will fight his corner to say the contrary for some unknown reason

I think he’s alright. His relationship broke on here for the painting thing but deffo a part of it when he started calling Ken out. At the time WW was at its lowest ebb and a fair percentage of posters thought Ken was a bit of a genius. For that reason alone I’ll stick with Iles

I’m not a great fan of most journalists and the lower down the food chain you get you get worse quality so it’s no surprise he’s not very good really. I would argue that when random folk off twitter clearly have more insight into the club than him that it speaks volumes for his relationship with the club or lack thereof.  But each to their own.

He is what he is. I do know that if the BEN stopped reporting on us then my stream of info would be a lot less, which isn’t good.

I dont mind him on the whole. He does some good stuff, and some bad stuff like most local journalists I guess. Probably had to deal with subjects miles away from what he ever thought he'd have to in the last few years.

Let's himself down with responses on Twitter sometimes and seemingly more often recently but he's human, and gets pummeled for info daily off a broad range of people some of whom can barely string a sentence together or think for themselves about even basic stuff.

If he carries on talking like missing out on getting into away games is only bad for him though, I'll join the witch hunt...

And there is that, not many other journalists writing about Bolton either. Him or Nixon...

i must be going soft in my old age but i do feel a bit sorry for Iles. The Bolton News is on its last legs and unlike the Wanderers little hope of a come back. Hes feeding on scraps and club have their own media outlets now and clearly dont trust the BN (rightly so IMO) . Sad really but its not a local paper in any sense doesnt know where areas in Bolton are or even how to spell them. Also an embarrassment with their stories such as 'World class Victoria Square" . Needs putting out of its misery and dont get me started on the website either.  Waste of time.

I'll go with that.

Agree to a certain extent but whose probably responsible for the club not trusting the BN?... reap what you sew

The world has moved on, the club can communicate directly with its fans. Game over for Iles and the BN realistically as no way can they cover their costs.

Gets the odd bit of leaked info from the club about administrive related stuff, whatever BWFC feel is minimal enough to trust him with, but otherwise the club can generate traffic to their own social media sites by keeping information in house, why help the BN? Iles' job to be a skeptical journalist, why cause yourself the hassle? And I'm sure Iles said something about FV's lack of transparency during the take-over process. Sharon probably thought, what a bellend.

Nothing against the guy personally but as someone mentioned above, some random twitter accounts seem to get more scoops than him. Don't remember any instance with any of the plenty of signings we have made this season that Iles has been ahead of the curve.

whatever you think of him going after anderson and giving holdsworth a free ride, when he took a pop at FV pre takeover his card was no doubt marked, the fucking idiot

Iles talks quite sensibly about games on the radio & I like to read his match reports, as long as he sticks to football, he's alright...…..but with the off field stuff he's a complete dick, stupidly getting himself into conflict with the club but getting too close to the likes of the supporter's trust cranks.

If he's managed to antagonise the seemingly easygoing FV bunch, he should just give it up.
