Water is increasingly becoming a huge issue, in several ways.

Meanwhile, demand increases constantly- for reasons we know about.

Meanwhile we lose farmland to development, which makes flooding worse and puts pressure on food production.

Supermarkets doing their worst.

It is vital that the network and treatment facilities are improved rapidly, but 700,000 new folk per year makes it a tail chasing exercise.

Not one of the main parties seems willing to shoot the big fuck off elephant in the room. It's wank.

Massive bonuses being handed out to Water Company Executives, as they continue to pump raw sewage into our rivers and seas and increase your bills, while investing as little as possible in infrastructure. It's all the fault of foreigners though. Not sure what this has got to do with Israel/Palestine, but here we are.

It’s beyond me how someone can rationally claim immigration is the big elephant in the room with regards to raw sewage.

It’s bloody obvious that the issue has been the incompetence and mismanagement at the very top of these companies. Alongside a government that has no accountability when it comes to sewage release. That’s all over the UK as well.

Of course 700k extra people a year is not sustainable long term and needs addressing. But to blame that on the current water problems is fckn ridiculous and just blind ignorance of the facts.

Labour have kicked folk out for far less in recent times regarding Israel criticism ( not tinfoil theories like this). I take it they're being cynical/selective here? Pongs a bit tbf

said on the radio earlier that that it's to do with the Rochdale by-election at the end of the month, the deadline to replace him has already passed......may be bollocks though :)

George Galloway is eating into the labour vote in Rochdale by playing to the muslim & other anti semitic labour voters

Labour won't sack their own anti semitic candidate for fear of losing the seat so will just give him a token slap on the wrist.

Politician in talking bollocks and making a U-turn shock!  - I do think that Labour do need to be a bit more like the opposition though, and never U-turn on anything,or tell blatent lies.

I don’t mind an occasional u-turn when public opinion goes strongly against the original directive.

It’s a bit like using that public opinion as the litmus test.

That said, if folk with a modicum of common sense went for the constituency representative role of being an MP then they’d maybe make the right calls which public opinion wouldn’t be vehemently against.

They could just withdraw

That's relying on Starmers labour party having any sort of ethics though.

Rather than stand on their beliefs what ever they may be current labour party strategy is to just not be the Tories.

Doesn't take much to say something along the lines of 'we support the ordinary people of Israel and Palestine but the actions of both Hamas and the Israeli Government are unacceptable and need to stop'.

We're heading towards our own Biden/Trump dilemma where we end up with what the nation views as the least worst option rather than the best.

They've already said that, repeatedly.

Sadly, that's going to be good enough, the Tory Party have fucked things up so much, that Labour don't really need to do anything or be anything, other than not be the Tory Party.

Starmer released a statement saying similar in December but has since given contradictory comments and lead his party in refusing to back calls for a ceasefire.

Be it for fear of being seen as anti semitic (which is nonsense) or wanting to not upset Likud (more likely) he won't stand behind his supposed views

Fair enough that's his current stance but if that's what he wants why did he tell his party not to back calls for a ceasefire when it was debated in the commons?

He's gone back and forth so many times on this it's no wonder I've no idea what he actually believes. A cynic would think this statement is just in response to the Muslim members of the party getting upset at the previous messages coming out of his party.

It's very plausible given he takes a great interest in opinion polls and focus groups, but calling for a "sustainable ceasefire" now isn't the same as calling for a ceasefire on, for example, 8th October
