So if you get a lump on you bollox or a lump of your breast, any disease will go from potentially curable to being lethal, basically it's a big fuck off.

I'm off to docs in an hour with the daughter, big medical centre were i live, she has a very sore hip, not life threatening but it's uncomfortable for her.

There are other ways people die, we really do need to strike a balance

Took 5 weeks for me to get my 2 week target referral, after they had found a plastic tube for a blood test.

Thankfully found nowt

@Not in Crawley If it’s what I’ve got, it seems to come in waves. Fine for a few hours then you feel yourself going.

Its not unpleasant in its own way. I quite like the shivery, cold but hot sensation with huge muscle cramps. I’m considering treating myself to a huwer to drop by and trample on my bollocks at the same time

Just seen it. Thanks Rudy/Spider.

I think they mean 'urgent' rather than 'emergency'?

Aye

Mumsnet (Horwich Chapter) seem to have immediately gone on the offensive.

Certainly can't blame the folks at the practice, I wouldn't want to have to see the various infections and weeping genitalia of the residents of South West Horwich either.

I didn't think STI's existed over that way.

For the maidens are so chaste?

Sounds about right, although I've not got muscle cramps, just a burning throat and nagging cough. I could also fall asleep on a washing line.

No I get them from The Beaumont.

It's mainly bored housewives from the Lostock/Regents Road area who aren't getting anything decent off hubby.

If you tip them with Neom candles and Kistler chardonnay they'll shit on your chest and rub it in like Vicks.

It would help if some of the reception staff were a little bit nicer on the phone, you can understand their frustrations with people wanting to see the doc every week, but remaininv professional with patients should be a mandatory thing for them.

I’ve never been spoken to with anything but courtesy. I’ve been with the same practice since birth. One of the staff is daughter of a friend of my mum’s and used to babysit me back in the day, another two are former rounders team members with my wife. All have signed a similar confidentiality guarantee to that of the doctor so I wouldn’t have any hesitation in telling them what was wrong.
If, however, I decided to be arsey with them, I’d fully expect a bit of arseyness back.

Good to hear, I'm not at the quacks a lot, but the wife says that sometimes they are a bit arsey and she is only asking for a repeat prescription, however they now have an online system for that.

If its a RP - just go through your local chemist, every boots does them now and just does it each time you need a new one. You don't need to phone the Drs anymore.

I'm on the Responder app and all jobs are in Bury and Wigan. Are Bolton doing their own thing?

I think that's more for social help - like dropping prescriptions off and picking up shopping. So it's probably more of a Bolton Council question that one. Fair play to you though Carlos! 👏👏👏

There's a tasks tab where you can volunteer, car park stuff usually, rather than alerts that go off when someone needs an errand doing. Not being funny but I'm not going to Blackburn to help out.

Theyll let us have Christmas but lockdown for New Year.

ITK fact.

Our local village club has been advised that's very possible, they've been advised it might be worth holding off ordering more beer for another week or so.
