That's only the number of people who tested positive in one day. I reckon you could pretty much double that for a more realistic figure. And then multiply it by 7 for the total number of cases that are currently active.

Said a couple of weeks ago that the number of infections will surpass what we saw last year. Especially with a more mature testing system.

Missus mate. Nurse. Tested positive Xmas thurs and Xmas eve on a lat flow. Went for pcr on Xmas eve. Whilst waiting for the result decided the positive lat flows were probably caused by drinking pineapple juice which she had seen on facebook. She’s a nurse lets not forget. 
 

decided as she had drank the pineapple juice it was safe to go round for a family Xmas with her parents are entire family. 
 

pcr results came back and positive. As are both her kids and partner. I’ve told the missus to never mention it again to me so I’ve no idea if anyone else has it now but suspect that’s inevitable. 
 

she’s a nurse. Pineapple juice. Facebook. 
 

I hope she dies. World will be a better place

The test is pretty much a type of litmus paper that detects a change in pH consistent with covid.  The buffer solution helps to reduce the effect of certain food types in your mouth on that ph.

If you don't use the buffer solution it's not doing the test properly. So all these showing it reacting to highly acidic juices are doing just that.

Just a reminder - there are a lot of nurses that are simpletons and think that wearing blue makes them a medic. 

Mind you a lot of medics are simpletons too.

It’s why I’m so annoyed verging on angry. Genuinely there are folk giving 110% day in day out to look after the health of people and doing a job that for me can never be paid enough and cretins like this just make me sick and must boil your piss as someone within the nhs seeing the sweat and tears. 
Blatant disregard for the health of others and the stupidity even if they weren’t a health professional would be too much for me to take but this is off the scale.

To be fair, the government have been cautious all along in this current Omicron outbreak. They have resisted imposing further restrictions in England. Many have criticised them for that.
