It needs to either be privatised or reduce the level of "free" services that it offers.

There is a very good reason the NHS model isn't replicated by every other country in the world.......it's just a huge money pit.

Had a patient who was a he then became a her. They went to Brighton for treatment. Nuffield I think it is? NHS pay for it though.

There is a strong value for money case for gastric banding in the long term. Complications of type 2 diabetes are a huge driver of activity and cost in the NHS. 

I'm much less sympathetic to your 2nd scenario though.
