Poland on Wednesday recorded 794 Covid-related deaths, the highest number in its fourth wave of the pandemic, with more than three-quarters of the victims unvaccinated.

This part of BBC report today. Probably 600 lives lost in 1 day because they wouldn’t have the vaccine, stupidity on another level!!

Now then, at the beginning of all this wife explained how it would likely mutate and probably weaken

If this mutation has achived what the virus wanted to do

Ie, not kill the host, why would it mutate again?

The virus only exists to copy itself.

It isn't brilliant at copying itself so it often makes mistakes, the copy with a mistake is a mutation.

The mutation can be positive/negative/neutral for the virus.

The virus never stops mutating unless it no longer exists.

When the mutation is positive then that version will have more success in copying itself and that version will become settled. This happens about every 10-12 days with COVID.

If a virus kills the host it is in then it won't be around to copy itself so versions that are less harmful to the host tend to become dominant over time because they are the ones still around to copy themselves.

If the host isn't passive then the environment the virus is in may be altered and this can make it more likely that mutations with certain qualities dominate over others.

We have our immune system which does this and we can also use vaccines to try to make this happen. Using vaccines we are basically trying to put some pressure on the virus to evolve in a certain way, leaving more manageable mutations as the dominant strains.

It's all about using environmental factors to influence evolution driven by natural selection.

Or summat like that.

I don’t understand why anyone would be double jabbed but not get the booster. Doesn’t make sense

Thin end of the wedge, where does it all stop, etc, etc.

Loons.

Not really hard to understand. A lot of people went along with 2 jabs as they were told that's enough to end this and get your life back.

It's now a third.

Hopefully omicron being mild will save a 4th rollout but I doubt it.

A lot of people have had enough of it.

Again, truth stretching. No one was told have two and that will be it for ever. It was asked and replied to at the time that further boosters would likely be required.

No difference to having flu vaccine every year.

And so what if we need one every six months for a while?

Vaccines for this will be refined and improved just like flu ones have been.

Especially so if you live in Scotland & Wales, their leaders loving the power kick it gives them, the people there need to be careful who they vote for.

Boris gambled and got it seemingly right this time

what makes me Laugh is folk saying Boris didn’t decide this it was the scientists or sage or A N other. but he decided previously according to the same people when he was locking us down and when it suited their rhetoric 🤒🤒

Whether they were told that or not that's what they believed.

Read comments sections on the daily fail.

Also overhearing conversations in pubs and restaurants I've heard a lot of it. Especially from younger people than the average demographic on here.

He also got it right in summer when starmer disagreed and it’s looking likely he’s right this time…. I’ll pass part of the credit to the 1922 committee though.
