I was in Blackpool last night. Absolutely rammed. Kids loved it, but I was pleased to have retreated back to the serenity of our rental in Lytham.

Lytham is great. Especially in the summer. Loads of restaurants and street cafes. Most people go to St Annes. It’s definitely a ‘hidden gem’

I still don’t know which one is which

To be honest, up until a couple of years ago neither did I. I’d been to St. Anne’s many times but by chance, stopped in Lytham and was amazed how different it was.
I’ve since caught the train to Lytham, 1 change from Bolton. Had a nice lunch then walked along the prom to St. Anne’s (about 1 1/2 hours) then caught the train back from St Anne’s. A really nice day out.

My parents now live in St Annes, so I’ve been fortunate enough to spend a fair bit of time up here over the last few years. First time staying in Lytham and off this evening (minus kids) to try a couple of bars and have a bite to eat.

With hindsight, I should have ditched the Airbnb and just done some house sitting for @gonzowhilst he is away…

Your parents obviously have good taste. A lovely place to live.
Plenty of choices to eat and drink in Lytham. Hope you have a great night J.

I prefer Blackpool to Lytham. Lytham has a wiff of death and people trying to be posh.

Deadly. Blackpool doesn't pretend to be anything its not, and in winter it's fab.

Good. Wouldn’t want to bump into you in Lytham. Enjoy the candy floss. 😊

😊 Thanks. Still waiting for my membership of the AHM. I’ll try and call into reflections one day to sign the forms.😉

Got to Blackpool yesterday at 3pm and traffic was bloody mental. Two nights in a lovely little B&B to watch the two nights of fireworks which were very impressive.

Only downside was how busy everywhere was but it's to be expected.

Oh and huge families nobbers with loads of prams blocking your way.

I know, and I do hope, and trust, that Boby knows its only nice natured joshing.

My mum and dad spend a good three weeks in Lytham every year, and each summer take the (younger) kids there for a great couple of days out.

It's just a cheap gag growing up in that my mum is from Farnworth and spent summer in Blackpool, my Dad went to Bolton school and spent his summers in Lytham.

Mum reckons it was more fun!
