I'm certainly not in the panic camp like what seems like 90% of our fanbase.

Is what it is. If we aren't ready we aren't ready.

It's big fuck off hysterical hound out and everything going sour I can't be arsed with.

Poor choice of words, @Stig. Replace ‘was’ with ‘should’ve been’ and it’s back to being correct.

Correct yes, that's what I meant. We were definitely poor on the night

i think thats a fair point too

im not naive enough to think players are always 100% but its been game after game after game and some are without doubt playing with issues

then saturday was such an effort

wasnt it barnsley who totally collapsed after we came back against them?

I'm not saying these things aren't factors, but it's too easy to bemoan these things: bad luck, bad referee, too many injuries, tired after a big game, timewasting etc.

Instead we should be looking at ourselves and things we should be correcting if we want to get promoted, and stop being so soft about external factors.

Get the mentality of our team right so we aren't so erratic and inconsistent and those other factors don't matter.

It's just easy to blame everything else

Ok it’s going to be a tough ask but there’s every chance that Derby can slip up at Cambridge just as we did against Salop on Tuesday, they will still be under pressure because they need to win to keep that gap between us, so we have to keep believing and do what we failed to do on Tuesday plus with a few goals. The Vale fans are expecting to get mullered so let’s not disappoint them. A good win for us and a Derby loss still leaves us with a real good chance of avoiding the play offs so let’s all get behind the boys until our chances of automatic are nil.

Spot on.

There are things we can control and don't seem to. Such as free kicks and corners, Derby are pretty much going to go up on their ability to score from set pieces.

No doubt a big mental and physical effort put into last Sat, for it not to end with the outcome that would have encouraged tired legs and minds to go again. On Tues, maybe a bit of that Sunday after a Thursday Europa League game sort of flatness the PL clubs experience often enough.

It's generated some debate to keep us occupied for a few days but which might be rendered irrelevant if we dust ourselves down and go up through play offs. It's being kicked around (and I've joined in as much as anyone) like we're having the inquest before we've really failed.

A bit of common sense there.

If folk are looking for reasons why we haven't walked the league, everything mentioned leads back to the same thing - we aren't ready.  And I include the inability to overcome injuries, bad luck, attitude, tactics, players, fixture congestion, poor refs etc etc.

It’s worrying but people just go for the injury excuse

Harsh that. We aren’t on Twitter here.

Injuries only ever been mentioned as part of a bigger picture while acknowledging other deficiencies and areas for improvement.

I’m not sure IE gets along with strong characters - hence the reason we’re bereft of hardmen & mentally strong players.

Exactly - remember in the Ian Greaves era - Bristol Rovers away last game (in fact after regular season had ended - a 12? goal win took us up on goal difference - couldnt believe the players didnt go all out for it

Whilst we don't know what goes on amongst the group, it would perhaps be a bit naive to think everything is rosy all of the time. Just like in any workplace; people don't always get on with each other.

Whether it's at such a level for the manager to behave in such a way, I'd have my doubts.

Clearly he has favourites, as he has preferred methods, but that would be the case with most managers.
