I like both players but that sounds like they've only performed in one game together.  They both started against Sheff Wed, Plymouth, Port Vale and Morecambe and we looked toothless, scoring 1 goal in 4 games.  They were dropped v Charlton and we looked really good, same at MK Dons.  For all Dempsey's qualities, he's similar to Bradley in a lack of quality with the final ball, crossing and shooting below average.  At the end of the day we need people that can score because most other things are in place, we just lack that cutting edge.

Still can't understand how Santos has gone all this time without a goal. Attack a corner ffs instead of hanging about around the keeper.

Teams should be fearing defending against him at set pieces but they could just as easily not even put a man on him.

Same as those 1-0 away defeats at Cambridge, Sunderland, Sheff Wed, Pompey, Wycombe, Accrington last season and Plymouth this season.  Its not really a consolation if it doesn't improve.  Its a struggle to recall a narrow victory at home when we were a bit lucky.  Nearly every time we win at home we have to be the better team and if we aren't, we lose or draw.  When we go away, teams that are inferior on the day still have a great chance of winning.

Use him as a weapon. Run to the front stick - take 2 defenders with him.

A L2 promotion season plus a season in a bit in this league, they'd have scored about 25 each during that time 🤣

I don't share the puzzlement.  If you can head a ball well with accuracy and a bit of pace eg Le Fondre, JDB, McGinlay, SKD, Wheater, you'll score a few headers a season.  If you can't jump or head very well, you don't score.  Santos has got loads of qualities but he doesn't score goals because he can't head straight.  How many did 7 foot tall Zat Knight head in compared to 5 foot ALF.

Just back, a sluggish 1st half but much better in the 2nd half, outplaying them & creating at least 3 clear cut chances......& missing them !!

Disappointed to lose but not as critical as some......if we take our very good chances, we win comfortably, so I still think we're not far off clicking & though we're too inconsistant for the top 2 , we should be in the play off mix.

We can't have any ambition for promotion with such an abysmal away record. Just puts extra pressure to win at home as well.

All well and good saying to move on from a bad week, but that's 6 points lost there. 6 points could make or break a season come May

Don’t give a fuck how arrogant it sounds, for us to even be playing games at grounds like that is an absolutely insult to our history and to lose there, well, what can you say.

Spent the first six weeks of the season berating Bakayoko being a yard short of things, convinced “Charles would have scored there”, but that’s now on no evidence whatsoever. Yes, probably a good save from the keeper, but he still should have scored.

All the same, good day out apart from the obvious. Take a bow @BOWTUN BAKEDabove all else

Was going to post exactly this. Seems like a biorhythm or similar. Weren't some of these at the same time of year as this year? Frustrating 1-0 defeats that can cost us dearly at the business end of the season.

It shouldn't be too much to ask for someone taller than most others on the pitch to contribute in some way in the air, or to have even looked like they'd made progress at improving that side of their game over time.

Even Zat Knight managed a handful of goals for us. Obviously nowhere near as many as Le Fondre, because one of those was an excellent forward and the other was a cart horse of a defender. Strange comparison.

Tuesday he was wresting with a Cheltenham player on the goal line when a corner was being taken crazy!

I've clocked up over 800 miles this week to watch two poor performances in Gloucestershire. 

Saturday's was better than Tuesday's in so much as we actually had enough chances to win the game. It wasn't really a lack of creativity against FGR, we created enough to win the game 3 or 4 to 1. Strikers need to be hitting the target and they're not. Jesus, just make the keepr work FFS.
