This isn't a serious statement surely? Conway can have a poor game. But his performance last night, without being near his best, was way ahead of any by JDC in all the time he's been here. JDC is steady enough, I've never once come away thinking he was our MOTM. And in his favour I've never seen him play as bad as Christie v Rotherham, he's between 5 and 7 out of 10 every game, with great energy/fitness. Conway was our best player in many games earlier in the season, and would have been last night without Sheehan playing so well. We see stand out moments from Conway, JDC doesn't have it in his locker.6 likes

Johnston's been as good as he's been in all his time with us this season. Maybe a part in a soft goal conceded the other night but a game where we had 80% possession, 51 crosses and nearly 20 shots but 0 goals indicates bigger issues elsewhere. Him and Toal are more than alright.5 likes

This debate is so bizarre I don’t know whether you’re being your usual self and taking the piss because you’re ironically saying he’s being overrated and people are getting carried away. Or whether you actually rate him and can’t understand why folk are underrating him! 😂 For me if folk are saying he’s been anything less than good (7), then we’re entering territory of folk getting into “knock the local lad.” If folk were saying 9, player of the season, he’ll be in the prem in two years, then we could claim the opposite extreme of hysteria over the local lad. He started the season as 2nd choice LB at best and SS not convinced about him to bursting on the scene and looking excellent. He’s showed some signs of inconsistency and made some mistakes (who in this squad hasn’t!), but not enough to say his contribution has been anything less than good. The thing l’ve been most impressed with is his willingness to listen and improve the parts of his game that still need working on. It was great to see him competing and using some physical strength to secure the 3 points against Rotherham. For all the valid talk of us conceding key goals at the wrong time, our goals against and expected XG against and general defensive solidity is miles better than last year and Max Conway is very much part of that. 7.5 so far, for a great debut start in L1. Keep it going young Max, it’s great to see a young academy lad who’s been with us since 6 years of age, establish himself as a Bolton Wanderer in L1 and maybe beyond. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to say that.5 likes

Just put the ball in the fucking net, no amount of fucking about with formations and tactics will matter unless we actually do the important bit and score some fucking goals.4 likes

Just opinions and I respect your's, here's mine. Rather than an "OK" start, he was our best player in loads of games, top draw, outstanding, 9 out of 10. He's had a flatter spell where he seemed to put the brake on his expansive attacking, he was no longer taking players on (sometimes 2 or 3 at a time), and not supporting the winger as much or getting into dangerous positions. Down to a 6 out of 10 for a spell. Last couple of games, more like his old self, offering loads going forward and solid at the back, admittedly not having a lot to deal with defensively. Its easy to forget how bad we've been last couple of years at LB with Williams, Schon and Murphy, even JDC on his wrong side sometimes. Its a massive upgrade having Conway. Yes he can improve defensively but we don't have a track record for defensively solid LBs.4 likes

Love you all despite our frequent fall outs on here. Met people on here that I'd trust with my life (even if we disagree on almost everything) 😁 Have a brilliant 2026 and let's hope we're posting from the Championship this time next year!3 likes

Me. Every year we put the Inbetweeners Movie on at 9 and in bed for half 10 so we’re asleep before the fireworks start. Being Diet Day 1, we aren’t even doing an early start to Donny either.3 likes

Agreed. I'd be very surprised if it swayed anybody one way or the other on their voting intentions. I don't like the bloke at all, but I really don't care what he was or wasn't saying in the playground 50 years ago3 likes

Cogley? Me neither. Yeah he's fairly one-dimensional and limited, but he's a Division 3 wing back FFS not Cafu/Maldini. He's no worse than Conway the one we're not allowed to criticise.3 likes

Why we're talking about childcare in a state we're never going to visit, never mind bring up kids, is beyond me. I look forward to you bringing me news of traffic violations in West Virginia, expense scandals in Iowa and dodgy deals in Idaho in 2026 😁 Happy New Year!2 likes

I'm, generally, going off the fact that those who would vote for him and his party, know already that he's a racist and deeply unpleasant individual anyway, they just don't care.2 likes

As smears go, dredging up something Farage might have said when he was at school 50 years ago, is scraping the barrel. Those who hate Farage will lap it up, those who support him will ignore it , but Bolty is right, the uncommited majority will see it as a rather desperate smear.2 likes

I'm certainly no Farage fan, but you're right; things were very different then. There's a fair few terrace chants you don't hear anymore and that you'd be jailed for singing.2 likes

Too used to watching on my own, no distractions. It'd wind me up having folk there, especially if they're not fans. I'll cope with the wait, done it before. Avoiding this place for a day or so after the game could be an added bonus too 😁2 likes

No, mate, you have to love or hate everyone/everything here on Bi-polar Ways 😉2 likes

I'm not hating on Conway, but my take is that he's better going forward than he is at the back. All of which is good if you're not actually meant to be a defender. That's all.2 likes

probably his reaction he's not accused anyone of lying or the claims being false, but dismissing them as playground banter2 likes

Let’s be honest here,we couldn’t have played much better than we did against Mansfield, some of our play was outstanding but even allowing for missing a few glorious chances we’ve also been incredibly unlucky with hitting woodwork, shots blocks, keepers just getting feet and hands to it and I think that goal they scored, I knew more about it that their mon did, just hit his head as he fell back and ended up going in. When did we last have luck like that, or any luck for that matter? Let’s hope we twat Donny tomorrow because one of these days it’s going to turn and somebody’s going to get the brunt of it.1 like

Aye, I think so, we should be scoring far more than expected but we're scoring far less than expected I think1 like

Thanks 👍🏻 I noticed our expected goals against is 0.96 - the best in the league by some way. Our actual GA is 0.95. So our defence / goalkeeper are actually doing slightly better than expected GA. It’s our inability to put the ball in the back of the net that’s the problem - which I think we all knew. Stevenage’s defence - the reason they are where they are. Let’s not sign any forwards from Port Vale in the transfer window.1 like

Youngsters might have a look on Twitter. If they do they will see Zia Yusuf, a brown muzzie from a family of immigrants pushing for Farage, or they might look at KS tweets with one of his latest ones was him being delighted that the Egyptian fella who wants whites, Jews and coppers dead is coming back to the UK.1 like

But students who were probably stoned around that time are all suddenly getting their memories back. Amazing aint it. As for the teacher, her letter was all second hand info, so this is where we are at, 2/3 hand info about some alleged name calling some 50 years ago, talk about scraping the barrel. All a bit silly ain’t it.1 like

I didn’t say you were, many are though hence the conversations we are having now. And fair play to these teachers and pupils for their amazing memory, it really should be applauded, and even more amazing is that Farage was made a prefect at the school after these (alleged) incidents took place.1 like

Back to transfer business, the BEN are reporting that we're in for a Tottenham attacking midfielder for the 10 spot (Jamie Donley) if he gets recalled from Spurs. Did the business with Leyton Orient last season, but hasn't managed the step up to championship or just not clicked at Stoke. Could be exactly the player we've been missing. But it is another loan and you can only play 5 at once so whose loan is being ended early? TSL - I'm not convinced but then I can't see us sending him back and having to find another goalie ACD - not by us that's for certain Burstow - gone off the boil, but cutting ties would seem harsh Forss - Donley would seem a direct replacement, so I think this is the one we'll move back Cissoko - could also see him being sent back to make some space in the squad1 like

So no one is sure by the looks of it yet people are comparing it with it with a guy who’s asking for Jews, whites and police to be killed. Weird hey.1 like

I’m going off this. n response to Mr Ettedgui's claims to the BBC, Farage told GB News: "I categorically deny saying those things, to that one individual, and frankly, frankly for the Guardian and the BBC to be going back just shy of half a century to come out with this stuff it shows how desperate they are." In a previous interview on Monday, Farage said he had probably "misspoken in my life, in my younger days, when I was a child". But he insisted he had not "directly racially abused" anyone "by taking it out on an individual on the basis of who they are or what they are". Asked if those making the allegations about him were telling the truth, he said: "Well, suddenly after 49 years they seem to have perfect recollection. I would say to you there is a strong political element to this." Pushed again on whether they were telling the truth, Farage said: "No, they are not telling the truth."1 like

Or they're highlighting a worrying trend with an already concerning demographic that have come here to escape persecution or a war torn country and seek refuge? You don't think that's newsworthy or should be of public interest?1 like

I think this is probably the most games Simons and Burstow have played at this point of a season in their career and it's catching up with them - they were excellent early on but it's like they've both ran out of steam1 like

Do that and you accused of being stubborn with no plan b Burstow goals have dried up so he's tried everything else up top including not playing strikers at all and it's not worked that well We keep conceding goals and no matter what he tries in midfield / right back, doesn't help Just not good enough last few games So try something else or bring in new faces in January1 like
