    So this happened last week

Keeper. We need a solid keeper.
  3. Take it you didn’t go to Lincoln away! I think he must have been on the piss the night before. Conceded 4, he was hopeless, didn’t bother trying to save a penalty and got beat from 40 yards with ridiculous positioning. But yes, one game. I agree he looked good at the beginning and he’ wasn’t riddled with errors… but there was something about him that wasn’t just quite right IMO.

Couple going out on loan presumably? I still think we need better than Bonham as number 1 at this level

Just listened to his interview. Last couple of lines he said "ive been waiting for this for the last three weeks", just shows how much work we put into these things, and the stuff that thankfully (in the main) stays out of the limelight and gossip. Looking forward to the next batch..

I don't want Conway as first choice full back.

I'd argue we also still need another right back, we can't be having Christie start games for us in the Championship.

I'm surprised they aren't concentrating on the £28m black hole in the club accounts and preparing for Administration. Unless they're going loco...

Like fuck, he’s paying keep from now on 😂
  10. I'll get over it when we have enough money in the coffers to adequately cover our defence and healthcare needs. Your actions had consequences Bolty. Own then instead of running away from them and pretending they didn't happen.
  11. I knew there'd be at least one I'd blanked from my memory! You're right, he was shocking that day (along with a few others). You get that guy @green genie and you're fecked! Get the earlier version i mentioned though and it could be a great signing.
  12. Agent 1: I reckon we can fleece BWFC, I’ve heard they’re being taken over by billionaires Agent 2: Give me a minute, I’ve a username on Bolton’s best forum Wanderers Ways I’ll be able suss out what the story is with their finances… Agent 2: (two days later…) I’ve not a fucking clue, it’s been taken over by Sluffy the vampire slayer, I’ve fallen asleep a few times trying to work out what the crack is…
  13. great post

Max has played in a division higher than the one before for 4 successive seasons. Huge learning curve but he keeps progressing. He's obviously not the finished article yet. Let's make it 5.
  15. Of course they do, they just don't need to be publically available. So all this speculating is pointless because you're basing it on data you don't have. So given what we've learnt over the last few pages, I can chuck darts too and estimate ours is maybe in the area of 40%?

Conway was dropped in league 1 for GJ, no way SS is starting him in the championship imo, backup at best. Bonham was Stoke's third choice keeper for a reason.

You'd think we were playing a bunch inca warriors on the moon the way folk are carrying on.

The concern for me with Bonham isn't his shot stopping, which is often impressive, but his ability to deal with crosses into the penalty area

I do. Simply because that means SS will feel he has made the necessary improvements to step up. For one of our youngsters to achieve that would be brilliant. We don't know if he will of course, but I'm sure we'd all like him to. That is of course, if he doesn't get promoted to midfield.. 😀
  20. Thanks for the refresher on amortisation Sluffmeister. I'll book it against my Continuing Professional Development hours.

Could have been a lot worse.

Davis, Famewo, Toal, Forino in central defence. Stephenson and Christie at right back Only Conway at left back (unless you count Richard Taylor but all indications are he won't be here). I think we still need a left back.

I'd be inclined to start Stones for this just for his calming influence. We Look panicky as fuck at the back

We've not lost there for 40 years 🤌
  25. I liked Baxter but he goes into the list of the Oxford heroes for me. It all changed with his finger injury and whatever happened with ‘super’ Ian

The photo isn't representative of the situation. Both centre halves drift across leaving Spence with the impossible task of covering 2 players. Some help from the wingers wouldn't go amiss neither.

This with bells on. Said it at the time, and Rooney pointed it out too. Spence can't win- if he doesn't cover the guy in the middle has a clear run. Questions over his defending of course, but not on this occasion. Might be a risk, but given who the defenders are, maybe Stones should play alongside Guehi. At least they will know each other from city.
  28. I was bang on with this one

It's not trying to be clever after the event either. It's right in your face clear as day decisions. We've got 4 identical like for like wingers. We've taken 2 injury prone full backs and a defender who's not played all season. We've just started a knock out world cup game with Djed Spence at right back who can barely get a game for 17th placed spurs and we finished the game with Declan Rice there. Meanwhile We've got a right back playing for Real Madrid, a bang in form Lewis Hall and even Luke Shaw sat at home. Harry Maguire is better than Guhei and Konsa. Cole Palmer has more talent in his bing willy than Madauke. Absolute barmy decisions.
  30. Was touch and go to be fair

Fucking superb signing, even though I'd never heard of him till this morning.
  32. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  33. Most keepers struggle with that, its the manager's fault for encouraging them to attempt it. I'd fine the keeper for passing it to a player in and around the box that's got an opponent anywhere near him. Modern managers probably give them a bonus.
  34. Bonham. Desmond and GT were excellent in the play-offs but are simply not Championship quality. Not sure we can stay up if Bonham is first choice next season. It is harsh but every player has levels......And we have four or five more that will struggle
  35. ... and that very odd short distribution to his marked defenders on the edge of the box.
  36. I never left mate. Yes, I got something wrong on the internet, big deal. I'm not one of those who sulk, lie, deflect, become abusive and the hundred and one other things people do to avoid saying they've made a mistake. I own my errors, apologise and continue on as normal. My big mistake was that there were two tables In the accounts with the almost the same title... Company Statement of changes in equity Group Statement of changes in equity I simply looked at the wrong one and extrapolated from there. Bit of a school boy error perhaps, although my background is in the public sector away from company share reporting. Still my mistake, I owned it, I've apologised, I've carried on. No change at all really as I'm sure you will be glad to hear. (well maybe not that pleased...)
  37. You didn’t need to tell me, I knew last week 😉
  38. Apologies then, I read it as you were saying it was far more fun for me to take this piss out of you, as in it wasn't any fun at all for you, for me to be doing so - hence my post saying you should lighten up a bit. I don't take anything said on the internet at all seriously, I can't understand any grown man doing so - but clearly there are loads that do. And many of them believe I'm the saddo...
  39. What rubbish. The best young prospect we’ve had here since the Rioch days and some of you want him out on loan. Max will be first choice next season as well he should be and he’ll develop here with better quality players around and behind him. Some need to leave off Jack Bonham too and recall that if it weren’t for his late season saves we’d still be in L1 now.

Nah, the bastards are picking him up and dropping him off each day. I was putting a pool table in his room 😂
  41. Not often I disagree with you but this needs looking at big time in my opinion
  42. We have 4 keepers on the books. It's way down the list of priorities.
  43. Well that was surprisingly light. Trains booked for Millwall and QPR. A rare sub-£50 return!
  44. Up the skint whites
  45. You can see that black hole from space - unless of course you are wilfully blind like Eddie and I
  46. Just got this from a pal at the World Cup

I was planning to go bed earlier and set an alarm then stay awake through to work. That really attractive looking Brazil v Norway game at.9pm throws a real spanner in the works though. I think I'm going to end up missing it and catching up in the morning. Too old for this shit.

Just seen this over on Facebook pal - massive congrats to your lad and yourself forgiving everything to get him to that position. What an opportunity.
  49. If Glasner fell out with Parish, there's no chance he's not falling out with Forest's dickhead owner Disaster waiting to happen
  50. I'm disappointed that I wasn't already on it 😉
