We've spent nearly a million to go from 2nd to probably 4th.

But still, we play nice football. IE has done a great job of lowering a lot of people's expectations

Collins has been a good addition tbf

other signings are questionable but let’s be honest he’s had the tools for automatic and failed he now has another chance

Evatt can’t be blamed for the injury’s though Dempsey is a shadow of him self since the back injury, both strikers from the first half of the season Charles and victor haven’t played since Xmas . Johnston missing the whole season . 9 players missing at the same time in feb . Has he had the tools really to get over the line

So what about the weak performances before injuries? Burton, reading, Carlisle, Wigan, Orient etc. Portsmouth had players out & managed that can’t be used

All the defenders were poor tonight even Toal. Only Paris showing for the ball in midfield and fuck knows what’s happened to Dempsey.

We so struggle against shit house tactics, but we’ve only ourselves to blame with so many wank performances.

Derby have a whole host of injuries too.

The best managers find ways to win, apart from rinsing and repeat. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expecting anything but the same result.

The difference is Pompey found a way a formation & style to win despite the injuries, we continue to play same formation & style regardless, add to that unforced errors in many games and it’s a perfect recipe for 2 bang average teams to go up instead of us.

Head's spinning after that. Really missed Santos at the back. Hope Sheehan our player of the season had a nice rest and a comfy seat on the bench whilst watching that must win game. Dempsey had a good second half as he got into the game after weeks on the bench but to me something seems a little off with him. He looks pretty miserable compared to last season. Hope he can find his spark again as we will need him in the playoffs. Subs made too late again of course. Don't know if its no Plan B or a stubborn refusal to accept that the initial tactics are not working. Frustrating night for sure.

Thomason isn't disciplined enough to play the holding role, we lacked control of the game and were caught on the break too easily without Sheehan there. Classic example where we've conceded the corner for their 2nd goal where Thomason has run into trouble high up the pitch and we've been left wide open at the back. If Sheehan needed a rest we're better with Morley there and Thomason playing higher up where he can play his natural game.

Too many poor performances and mistakes tonight. Another miss from a yard to add to the collection, can't work out what Baxters done for their 2nd, it was well struck but straight and he had a good sight of it.

Positives: we scored from a corner and corners were generally better, Dion is back, it would have been a worse result if we'd won on sat.

Sheehan did a sprint down the touch line, disappeared down the tunnel and never returned.  Hopefully he’s not tweaked something

The plan went to pot when we brought Charles on, and we reverted to our tactics from Jan/Feb where it was "get it out wide and cross into a full box".

Didn't seem to do much when he came on.

Whole set up was wrong tonight, and I wouldn;t fancy our chances in the play-offs right now.

Felt sorry for Maghoma tonight. He was so much better than everyone else on our team it was quite embarrassing.

Like watching a one man team at times.

Seemed to be the only one capable of taking the game to them

We're lucky to have him

That’s proper took the wind out the sails,

proper deflating that.

even after Saturday and knowing pretty much play offs it was, performance was great, expected to roll onto tonight in similar fashion and get the job done.

It’s been a tough draining season being outstanding one game then not so outstanding the next. There’s not been much middle ground.

trying to stay positive,

shows how big of a miss Santos is. if he was playing they wouldn't have scored 2

Im not going to disagree, hes easily our best, but i think it was more we were missing both santos sheehan, and replaced by toal thomasson

Leagues apart

And another thing, on tonight, forrester is not our best centre back, prob not top 5

Id say first choice players tonight numbered 7. Id still expect us to win but its not so difficult to see why we struggled

I thought maghoma was great

We can still do it but it needs charles, santos, jones, sheehan proper fit, then we have as good a chance as anybody

Think that’s the big problem, they’re not fit. None of them started today, I’m struggling to see how we have them 100% for play-offs. Charles looked well off the pace when he came on

Toal can't say anything after pompey. The are all to blame. It's just a different player making a mistake each week. Those two goals were so bad defensively. I've just seen the replay of the second. The guy was completely free but it's right at baxter, he should do better.

The second

Looked like a bullet with a big deflection?

Clutching at straws a 1-0 Cambridge win and a 3-4 - Bolton win Saturday and it’s back on…. It’s not nearly the miracle iles says it is.

Peterborough would finish above us

Cotton wool time, imo
