Where's the mushy pea thread? It's not Christmas without it.

First UK Xmas for 10 years…. Just been for a walk down canal popped into Whittle tea rooms for coffee cake, well deserved after ripping out a Triffid in the back garden this morning, Christmas Day pub dinner with the in laws, Boxing Day nipping into Bolton TC pre match for a beer with an old wanderer who doesn’t go now, then off to match, 9 holes and a beer after on the 27th, chillax 28th Match 29th and 1st, probably a couple of days in gym in between if it’s open. Gonna keep busy to keep my mind of the dark and weather.

She's brought in a 20 pounder and we can't freeze the bastard, it's too big! We're definitely having our dinner on Christmas day.

Fairly quiet one for us.

Working tomorrow so usual Xmas Eve booze was shifted to yesterday and expect to feel all the better for it on Xmas Day. Finishing in work time for our usual pizza restaurant which is usual the pre curser for said boozing.

Curry on Xmas Day, massive fry up before the game on Boxing Day.

Send t’lad back home on the train on 27th. Not the same now he’s older (17) but nice to have him with us over the full period for the second year in a row rather than the previous 15 years of pick ups and drop offs.

Gig on Friday, take in laws out for a meal on Saturday then match on Sunday and another gig.

Couple of days break, then Mansfield, then a day then off to Exeter on the Friday.

Maybe not so quiet, after all 😀

Pick my mum up on Xmas Day and go with her to my brothers

Boxing Day - endure the in-laws round here - would go to the match but I’d get so much shit for not seeing her family at all it really isn’t worth it. Also only chance to see the grandkids over Xmas

27th/28th go and see my daughters, take the decs down and start some packing for early New Year Traf Tour to hot weather

Much of what's wrong with him is self inflicted.  Had some mobility issues for a good while, but doesn't do his exercises. Just sits there and it has had knock on effects with his circulation etc. Not wise when he's got copd. 

Family sick of telling him to out the effort in. Now he's had what is effectively a final warning. 

3 physios at the hospital struggled to get him up etc, and he can't even drag himself up the bed.

Highly likely to be respite care, where he will be made to out the effort in in order to be able to come home.

Sounds cruel, but I find it hard to have a great deal of sympathy for him. He has simply put on the  m-i-l and felt sorry for himself. Chickens/roosting etc.

Feel more for her, and my wife.

My parents are in Spain for Christmas & New Year.

I had three (younger) brothers, one died this year, one lives in Canada and the other will be in Spain on holiday.

The mother-in-law will be having her first Xmas without her husband who died suddenly back in February and he was also her primary carer with her having MS and a load of other health issues. My wife and her brother have been looking after her since. The brother-in-law, however is away in France for Christmas, the wife is having to sleep over at her mothers over Christmas and I'll be having Xmas dinner there, along with those two, and our two "kids" aged 31 & 19!

Fucking Humbug.

Nothing humbug about it fella. It can be a tough time of year for a lot of people.

T'other half in proper rough- definitely a genuine case of flu I reckon. An asthmatic who didn't bother getting herself a flu jab.

Might a nice peaceful afternoon for you when the cooking’s all done? Good leftovers an all.

We’re deviating from our usual roast & having lamb curry this year. I’m on the beetroot samosas. Will see my partners family in the morning & for a drink in the afternoon, but just a nice chilled meal with my parents after that. Will even have time for a morning run. 

Saw my niece & nephew over the weekend in Inverness. Can’t help love the Christmas build up when you’re around kids that are buzzing. 
 

Also found out I’m going to be a dad by the time next Christmas comes along (early days still). Trying not to panic about everything that needs done 😬 Someone please tell me it’s easy ? 😂

It's not easy, but it is wonderful.

Mind you, I've got teenagers so little kids seems a long time ago. 

I did go to a show I'm working on last sat for little kids and the tired, miserable look on the parents faces took me right back 😂
