Absolutely. That being said, would be nice for us to get a contentious decision given to us that affects the game some times..

A point might have favoured them before the game but they know we were out of the promotion race with 10 minutes left and now we're not.  Same goes for Bradford realistically, they've made up 2 points today, its only a 10 point lead if Bradford lose their game in hand.  7 points isn't a huge lead with so many games left, 2 went up in smoke in 10 minutes.  Just saying they'll be gutted its not 2 more however its dressed up.

I didn't realise Bradford play Stockport Tuesday so fair enough assuming Lincoln beat Northampton they will be in a great position.

"7 points isn't a huge lead with so many games left", but 9 would've put us out of the promotion race? I don't really get that.

It is possible to read too much into games like today. If we'd lost, beat Reading and Northampton upset Lincoln we'd be in the same position we are now that everybody seems fairly happy with.

Lincoln remain in an excellent position to go up, if they have a mad wobble from here the odd point likely won't make much of a difference. Wycombe are the comparison most people make, and they finished 8 points behind Wrexham in the end.

Rodrigues and Kenny looked exciting

Yep

a few nice touches form Rodrigues and flicks round the corner. Looks comfortable. Players will need to learn quickly to find him an trust him though as there were a couple of chances to play in to him and they decided to play safe and go out wide for it to come back. If you’re gonna have someone who can unlock the door, you’ve gotta give him the key

Envious Dimron. Great day for a football match over there, hope the Struggler still has the real ales, the wood fires and sound locals. Had a few good nights in there, the landlady was a real character.

I've known Anna for over 40 years... she managed the Wig and Vaults before taking on the Struggs. Retired a few years ago and now lives in Cleethorpes surrounded by rescue dogs. Emma now has the pub, no changes and still dog friendly, its like drinking (proper beer) in a kennel sometimes.

Did you by any chance live at the top of Canwick Hill near the Homestead?

Although hopeful, I didn't really expect to get much from today so an away point is a good result for me.

After his first 3 touches you could just see the difference

Based on today’s performance I’d say we should be concentrating on Kenny, Rodrigues, Dalby (who seems to be settling in to the CF role) and a solid keeper in Bonham.

And giving them game time.

I’ve been resigned to playoffs since last Saturday when Lincoln got our hopes up by being a goal down at Plymouth then beat them resoundingly whilst we struggled to get over the line .
We all feel the same … even Schumacher just said  it ..

‘ they are a great team (at what they do) ‘

nobody can bring themselves to to say they are ‘ a great team’ then just leave it at that , myself included.

We had it under Parkinson …. ‘ Bolton will probably go up but I couldn’t watch that every week ‘

It is frustrating when you are trying to create something decent to watch … and we have had some exciting moments this season … but very frustrating to see a Stevenage Lincoln or Wrexham succeed or at least be our equivalent  using the Parky style which I thought we had left behind .
There  were plenty of complaints from our fans back then . I don’t want to have to revisit it but maybe we will have to to get out of this league .

Least it would’ve given him a decision to make…

That ref probably would have booked Kenny for diving. Then sent him off for arguing.

But nobody will say the words will they?

‘ they’re a good team ‘

there’s always the caveat at the end of the sentence !

They were so much better than long balls / throw ins

They've got some proper players

We had to win today, but it's our blip around Christmas and our poor away form earlier in the season that will cost us the autos.

I

I’m same at the time I knew we had  blown it at Xmas an easy set of fixtures the return was massively disappointing

No way we throw the towel in… we’ve still every chance of autos.

It wouldn't have been 9, they've got a game in hand so minimum 10 given they never lose, probably 12.  Unrealistic to expect them to drop 11 or 12 more points than us in 14 games.  7 points between them and Bradford is very different.

I cant disagree but 92/93 Port Vale were realistically out of reach but we hunted them down, even without an injured Andy Walker........with Rodrigues and Kenny to come in and the quality of Apter and CBT ......and Dalby on fire I'm not giving up just yet 😀

Friday night, Hull away, 1-0 down, Stubbs sent off, automatic promotion gone.........fuck that, this is BWFC, we always do things the hard way!!!!

Of all the BW games I've ever been to, that one had me nearly passing out with sheer exhilaration when McGinlay scored.  The pitch invasion, the 3.7K BW fans on a Friday night, promotion within touching distance, it was a lot to take in when I was used to us just being shit for every other season I'd been following us properly.  Goosebumps reading Julian Darby's memories of it.

They didn’t impress me at all really. Very similar to our promotion side under parky. Big lads up front & at the back and put the ball in the box at every opportunity. It’s a formula that’s worked at this level time after time. Shakiest we’ve looked at the back for a while purely because of that. Not used to getting peppered.

Moylan the best player on the pitch to be fair but a lot of his success is based on picking up the 2nd balls after the initial clearance

Only 24 Moylan…. Looks like he could be a useful player

Hiya Dimron, I recall bumping into the Strugglers landlady on a couple of nights when she was off duty. She would go in the Wig and Pen pub? or whatever it’s called near the top of Steep Hill. She did like a drink if memory serves me right. No I never lived over there, I did stay in many hotels though. The White Hart in Lincoln centre plus Holiday Inn? on the waterfront. Various others all over Lincs, Petwood at Woodhall Spa was a favourite because of the Dambuster connections. Anyway, watched the game on telly, they were a well motivated, well organised physical side with some good players for this league. We struggled to compete for big spells of the game, but we stuck at it , got the equaliser, then tried to nick a winner. Happy with the point but feel slightly fortunate. Beat Reading and more importantly Evatts Oranges (always hated them for so many reasons, too many to recount here) and I will feel a lot better.

They scored a really good goal, then opened us up and made some perfectly good chances on the deck in the second half. We chucked a ball in the box and a big bloke nodded it in.

So be it, who cares. But I don't really get the criticism of their style of play. Seems like the kind of stuff we'd get under Big Sam from people who'd made their mind up before a ball was kicked.

We also average 0.8 goals a game away from home, so we're hardly a thrilling watch either.

Spot on.  We've been dire to watch in most away games this season, today included for the most part.  Lincoln have averaged 50% more goals away than we have, that's all the entertainment I'd want if I was making an effort to spend my entire day travelling/watching us (and they've conceded less).

Mental when you think about it. Darby was traditionally a goal scoring midfielder being asked to play upfront due to an Andy Walker injury. Then switched to centre back when Stubbs was sent off.

Plus he got a crucial goal at Bournemouth and the winner against Stoke.

Proper heroic stuff. So unfair he got stick a lot of his time at Bolton.

We just have to win the next three games and hope Mansfield turn them over. Three points behind going into March and it will be interesting as they have to go to Cardiff and host Stockport early March

Just in that era, late 80s to early 90s, these players played up front:  Scott Green (played midfield, right back, striker), Phil Brown (it was hilarious), Mark Came (centre back, scored at Swindon as a striker), Julian Darby who played CB, RB, midfield, CF depending on who was available.

McGinlay didn't really cut it, could only play as striker or keeper.

They were all better than Etete because they could trap a ball and/or win a header.

Its just Tuesday that's the issue.  We'd love it if we had Cobblers at home and they were going to Reading.  If we come out of that still 6 points and a game behind, we've had a great few days.
