I've not looked back at it but seemed to recall during the game for the one that led to their penalty/red was because RR overcommitted with the press, so technically he did leave us expose

You're right, he did, went in for a press that wasn't on, Harness stood still behind him, waited for them to clear it to him and off he went into acres of grass.

I really like RR, he gives us skill, ball carrying, clever passing and footwork and a lot of positive energy, just a little bit gung-ho and on his own wavelength at times.

Felt a bit sorry for GJ , he got exposed a few times by gale’s reluctance to track back.

Johnston being outran, outjumped and out of position is on him, not Gale

If he (or anyone else) is out of position it can also be about tactics, formations and managers instructions, especially as we have the same issue whoever is left back.  Not something we can know about.

It is very clear what SS intentions are with regard to how we play.

He laid that out very recently.

He is almost certainly going to continue to play wingers, which leaves a slight defensive weakness on the left, as we all know.

If that works out well for us, then great.

If not, then SS will have a question to answer.

Either way, we'll have to strengthen next season.

It's not a ringing endorsement of our recruitment or maybe even his coaching, but I do agree with SS that we don't look overly solid at the back either way. So we might as well do what makes the attack better and chance our arm. I feel the same about RR vs Simons or Erhahon.

That is where i am with him. He gets paid the big bucks for making those calls. Mine and your thoughts do not matter at this time. Others will not be so forgiving.

I will give him another chance if we reach the play-offs or not because that Evatt defence needs re-building Firino aside

If we dont go up and he does not change the defence sticks with two midfielders and two wingers  both home and away we will see nothing changed and he will be gone before Christmas

SS deserves this summer to re-build

It remains to be seen what league we're in next season.

Notwithstanding that it remains to be seen if we remains committed to wingers (I really hope we do) & if so who.

Gale is ours & despite some frailties we can continue to develop him. Then, do we keep AD-C ? ... I blooming hope so. Do we return for Blackett-Taylor. Again I'd love that if his fitness seems good. Do we keep Cissoko ? Well now that's a question.

Do we continue with Tutu as a wing-back ? Or make him a full on winger ?

Then the full backs. We need at least one, proper, one. Maybe two but I doubt we’ll be giving up on Conway. Christie ... thanks & have a great ending to a good career. Taylor, I think will return to Scotland.

Keepers. We need a proper one.

Centre backs, we need one to play alongside Forino.

Erhahon deserves more time & I think Simons does too.

Kenney, see if can be signed again, permanently or a fresh loan.

... & that's only to progress in Division 3. If we're promoted there be the same issues, but on a bigger scale.

Assuming we dont sign anyone that we have on loan I would be happy with  2 new fullbacks and then using Conway & Tutu as wingers . If Schon comes back Id give him another go.

RR will be the number 10 & Sheehan the QB so its who do you play alongside him .

IF we can sign Kenny & Barstow that would be great to ratate along with Dalby . If Forss can prove his fitness Id take him as well . That goes for CBT also & fingers crossed ACDC returns . Id also take Cissoko , there is a player there and at 22/23 he has a couple of years still to improve.

As much as I love Dempsey i think he and MacAtee will leave along with Randall and Christie .

If Conway & Tutu are our wingers next season, we're fucked before we start.

I can see Conway moving into the middle and Tutu if still here will be a sub RB to whoever new we get.

Quarterback

A few pundits tried to bring that in as a term back when Pirlo was at his peak around 2010 and I was glad it didn't stick then and don't want to hear it again

So who will be Scrum-Half ?

... & we're desperately short of a Goal Attack.

What about Wicket-Keeper or Opening Bat ?

It's a strange term that people like to use these days, like all the nonsense about double pivot, inverted wing backs, low block and gegenpress.

XG, False 9 and "in the channels".

None of its use makes in right.
