jmjhb Posted April 6 Posted April 6 No harm done. Just about where we finish in the top six now. Quote
London Wanderer Posted April 6 Posted April 6 bottlers again same old. the pessimist in me can't see us beating someone like Stockport and Bradford at Wembley great to have ACD back though.  Quote
Zico Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Draw about right Really don't want to come up against these in the play offs Quote
Didledee Posted April 6 Posted April 6 No damage done to our playoffs and an extra game ticked off, though 3rd or 4th is no guarantee, think if that game had 10 more minutes even without them going down to 10 men we'd have won it, we ended strong, unfortunate with the bar though Forino didn't really know too much about it. Overall though Stockport looked dangerous in possession, on another day/different ref they may have got a penalty before we scored the first, which was a lovely finish from Kenny. Their 2 goals were quite shit really how it conveniently landed to them twice for easy goals, but can't really complain about the final result, given the O.G 2-2 was comical too Quote
Whitesince63 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Don’t know what Conway is now, not a defender and nowhere near the attacker he was early season but certainly for me a liability at the moment. If he’s going to be a defender then stay in position and defend and if he’s a wide player then have someone to cover for him. At the moment he’s so far out of position every game that we’re wide open and it’s costing us. Quote
pfk505 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) Glad to have rescued another draw but time and time again we can see why we won't get near top 2. Positives I thought Tutu had another great game given he was targeted for the entire first half and had no help from Apter. His levels of fitness are also really impressive, doesn't look like he's slowed down at all by the 90th minute. Dempsey and Sheehan did reasonably well as a 2 in the middle. Kenny was very good and fought well for his goal. Dalby also played pretty well. Conway was very poor, he needs to improve his consistency if we wants to play at a higher level. Once again its defensive lapses that stopped us winning. Edited April 6 by pfk505 Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Poor today, but if we had drawn at Plymouth and won today everyone would be happy. At least we didn't lose. Great 2nd goal for us. Quote

bolton_blondie Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I fell asleep for about ten mins in second half. Missed fuck all. Quote
woolli Posted April 6 Posted April 6 All on SSÂ that result for me. My opinion, HT Duberry, Bairstow and Christie for Apter, Cissoko, and Tutu. We didnt have a replacement left back for Conway, because he was fuckin wank! Behind their forward for the 1st goal, nowhere to be seen for the 2nd! Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Another afternoon of frustration and missed opportunities. Their line was ridiculously high so much of the game and they shit themselves every time we got in behind. So, of course, we kept going with the risk averse football in to feet and not posing any threat. Kenny, Dalby, Burstow and even, on occasion, the otherwise poor Apter on were making some great runs, but nobody had the vision or confidence to just knock it in to space for them to run on to. Nothing to fear from Stockport in the play offs, but with Cardiff dropping points again it really should have been us looking to really put in a chase for second spot for the final few games. I do have a concern that we’ll drop off with the idea of having nothing to play for, and lacking momentum going in to the play offs really isn’t a good idea. Quote

They're a good team and have been in the top 5 pretty much all season. Sure folk forget we are actually playing an opposition. They are our level and we are theirs hence our league positions. Draw was probably the right result but we had more than enough intent and possession to win 10 games, especially after the subs. Two soft wank goal conceded too, but that's just us in general isn't it. It was a proper game of football between two proper play off standard teams. Apter can fuck off forever mind. And so can Toal and his sideways slow ponderous passing. Quote

Cissoko in the first half wanted the ball fired in to space. Toal the biggest culprit and Conway not far behind him. Quote
Didledee Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) Bradford have 3 games vs playoff teams out of 5, tough like ours, that game which isn't till the 2nd to last game may not mean anything or it could be whether we get an home leg 2nd. Looking at the fixtures the teams out of the top 6, Plymouth have a good run of games (bar Bradford away), but to claw back 8 points from 15 with -9 GD on us, shouldn't be an issue as for 3rd 4th atm, Stockport have a much easier run then us, Stevenage have some tough games (Bradford A, Bolton A, Lincoln H) but have a game in hand. masi 51 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Stockport are the second best team in the league behind Lincoln. Apter, Desmond and Cissoko are lge 2 players at best in the positions they play. Again Demps and Sheehan have not worked as a pair. Â Another point to the play-offs Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 There are 4 teams above Stockport in Div 1, but you reckon their the 2nd best team in the league. Baffling. Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I think they're a proper outfit under a proper manager and have done since they returned to the league In that sense and in isolation, it's no great disaster that we haven't won today But the concern is that we still haven't found a way to beat them and there's a strong possibility they end up as our opponents at some stage in the play-offs Quote
deeane Koontz Posted April 6 Posted April 6 So refreshing having decent strikers who can do a bit of everything. Hope not strengthening our defence in Jan doesn't cost us come the end of the season.  Quote
