Now that it's ticket only, it won't be full.
People grab the tickets for FOMO, but then have a change of mind on the day and go elsewhere.

Does anyone bet on the opposition to soften potential blows ?

Ive done it once when Aris had to beat Bayern 6-0 or more to stop us qualifying . think I was on for about £3000 if it happened. Which it didnt obvs.

Literally the ONLY time I bet is under these circumstances. Something to as you say, soften the blow

I could never bet against Bolton.

Try it. It’s really good. 👍🏻

if Bolton win you win, if Bolton lose, you still win

Nearly put £500 on Oxford to beat us and wished I had done; if Bolton won I still got the £1000 bond bonus and would have more than doubled the money if I had made the bet

did it once v Tranmere in cup replay

they were 8/1 and knew we'd play weak team

we equalised in injury time to take it to extra time

and they scored in the first minute or so of extra time and won

so it was a doubley hard blow as opposed to a softened one

never done it since

It's been a hell of a long week already, watching the match last night made me even more anxious for tomorrow.

I know exactly what you mean, i just hope the lads turn up on Thursday. If we turn up and play well, i think we go through. If it's an abject performance i'm not so sure

Bradford are 11/2 to get promoted.

if I did that bet they would beat us on penalties and then lose by 3 or more to Stockport in final. (Or Stevenage)

Did extra time not count ?

Nope, it was a result after 90 mins bet rather than winner of the tie

Thats harsh . Not much of a betting man , dont even bet on the Grand national . More cards and casinos .

Just thought if people had booked  hotels/travel etc is it regularly done to offset losses / "well we lost but at least I can drown me sorrows" type thing.  *

*Nerves are kicking in .
