I’m probably the opposite side of the spectrum to you - I’m nervous, concerned, a bit fearful (not of Bradford) but of the prospect of another season in L1. But I’m also really excited at the same time. What an opportunity, another Wembley experience to savour (although we all know these can be horrific too!) and the prospect of savouring the best way to get promoted - I’d love my kids to experience this. I remember seeing you, day before Oxford, you felt the same then. I’m really hoping your confidence is spot on. And I’d love to be able to detach myself emotionally from these pre-big-game feelings, but all part of the BWFC experience, which makes the losses hard to take, but by God, it makes the victories ever so memorable. No right or wrong how to feel mate. I want it like the next man and a bit more maybe. Just don’t like getting to in the moment before it happens. 100% want out of this league but if we don’t I’ll go again next season😂 Quote
Popular Post Tombwfc Posted May 14 Popular Post Posted May 14 I'm excited, this is what it's all about isn't it? It's a long season with a lot of shit, cold Tuesday night matches but the reward is caring about games that truly matter like this one. Win, lose or draw it'll make you feel like nothing else for a couple of hours. We're fortunate to support a club that gives us games like this on an almost yearly basis. Quote
Hoppy Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I want to watch Stockport getting hammered at Wembley hopefully by us! Quote

Aye I can't lie It takes over my whole life and thought process. Stomachs in turmoil today. Keep thinking I wish I wasn't going and shall I just fuck it off and then think stop being a massive bender Quote

Great, i like hostile, miles better than Fulham or 3000 at Burton. Normally I keep well clear of "away" pubs but i'll go to the Bradford Arms to watch the march. Quote
bolton va va Posted May 14 Posted May 14 It's advantage us & we've shown 3 times that we're better than Bratfurt but.....there's a nagging fear that we can put in another non-performance, ....Vale, Swindon, Cardiff, P/boro................... plus, i've had enough of division 1,. Spurs/West Ham or Bromley ? Quote
frank_spencer Posted May 14 Posted May 14 God speed to all those going. Another evening watching on my phone on shit Travelodge WiFi awaits for me. Quote

worthy10 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 This is an acid test for the appointment of SS. We have limped into the playoffs and until very late in the season were fancied by the bookies to get automatically promoted. SS has brought in the vast majority of the outfield players but our defence and goal keeper are our weakness. Tough for the people holding the purse string if we don't get promoted because they have invested in SS in a big way and expectations are rightly high. Quote

I’m not here to present the defence for SS but, if the defence is a weakness, it remains Evatt’s defence. With regard to board investment in SS, with c.£2 million received for Collins and Thomason, I’d suggest his transfer activity is broadly cost neutral. SS has had nothing like the investment given to Evatt. Quote
burnden Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Pre match jitters kicked right in here - have a top night those whites traveling Quote
Lostock Whites Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I feel nervous because I just think we need this more than them and Stockport. With respect, we are the much bigger club, but more importantly, Stockport have had 3 promotions in 5 years, Bradford have just come up and have had a hugely successful season regardless. For us, we've been rotting in this league now for over 5 years, 2 already unsuccessful play off campaigns prior. I know football doesn't work like that. But please just let this be our year, we are long overdue 🙏 Quote
Whitesince63 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I know we criticise our defence but to be fair they do do a decent job most of the time. It’s L1 and there isn’t a team in here whose defence doesn’t make cock ups but when ours have to do it they generally do for me. We’ll see tonight but if it’s the same as last Saturday I think we’ll be ok. Next seasons a different matter but if we’re still in L1 we already have Inwood and our new Irish lad to potentially come in without spending too much. Quote

Transfers would suggest he's had to earn money to spend it. He's currently operating at a net gain of ~£1m in transfer spend. Quote

Loans don’t come free though so whilst they haven’t paid out big in fees I’d imagine our loans plus wages have cost us a few quid you’re not including. Quote

Next seasons a different matter but if we’re still in L1 we already have Inwood and our new Irish lad to potentially come in without spending too much. We defend and play like we did last game then we are through. For me, this is our 5th game against them and they are a solid but very basic team. We have conceded just 1 goal to them in 4 games this season. I don't think there's anything new they can add to their game. The only way we will concede 2 goals or so is if we fuck up which we are prone to doing. I'd like to think the introduction of Erhahon on that left side of the midfield with Johnno rather than Conway at LB can help bring us back to how our defence was before he got injured. I don't think its a coincidence that he comes back and we get our 1st clean sheet in forever. He's going to be pivotal landing on those 2nd balls in midfield. Corners, long throws, 2nd balls from long punts up the pitch, that's their game. They haven't got the personnel to play like we do but they make it up in other ways. I'd like to think we've got the personnel to combat this now. For me, as much as we talk about ACD & Cissoko, Forino and Erhahon in particular are going to be pivotal should we get over the line. Let's be confident. We know we are the better team head to head. COYWM. Quote
Popular Post jeep Posted May 14 Popular Post Posted May 14 Just clocked off..... Bit of lunch.... Get ready... Stroll to Daisy Hill station.... Few beers in Manchester with @Spartan White & the LL Leg-End.... Train to Bratfurt... Few more beers, and some dinner.... Watch us smash Bratfurt... Singing Wemberleeee all the way home in my mate's car (he'll be sober!).... Not sure what all the fuss is about...... 😁 COYFWM!!!! Quote
Bradshaw White Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Nothing to be nervous about. It’s advantage us. They will need to seriously improve on last Saturday & come at us. That will leave them open & our wide men will do the business. COYW. Quote
