have another

and id suggest you cut out the personal abuse

Without getting involved in the politics of this board why is natsdad getting a warning for personal abuse? Quite a few have been at it on this thread.

Not having a sly dig just curious.

seriously

whether frank is misguided or not, he argues his points

this board won't last long if its just a slanging match

I know Frank argues his points, the point I was trying to make was there has personal insults previously. Dont worry about it this board makes my ears bleed at times and I dont want to pour petrol on the fire.

if its somebody 'known' either by millions of posts or in the real world, i'm always going to have greater tolerance

cos i know if i pm them they'll play nice

if somebody is gonna play up in their first dozen posts it doesn't augur well

if natsdad wants to tell everybody why frank is wrong, i'll welcome his input

I went on saturday and to be honest I was leaning towards the EDL, but I thought I would have a closer look at the UAF. What a horrible dirty group of people they are! Some of them must have been camping out in the same clothes for weeks. God they stunk. I was near the coffee shop (don't know the name) when the police and dogs got stuck in. Hope the dogs get a check up cos you don't know what disease they could get.

If the UAF supporters had all taken a shower on Saturday morning and dressed up for the occasion would you have decided to support them instead?

If that lot had taken a bath on Saturday morning they would have polluted the Croal (good job the fountains were off)

Abusing a mod for doing the job of running the board, as opposed to an "ordinary" post, is way out of line. Cassie, I've put your man onto Mod Preview indefinately.

If people aren't happy about this then there are other boards out there, none of which I'd imagine would tolerate some of the posts we do. Even so, some people can't help themselves. If we can't discuss this subject in an adult fashion then it's getting closed.

So that was that then, the great Bolton race riot of 2010.

Things I have learnt;

If you don't agree with the EDL you would have supported Hitler

The ANL don't do Dove

If you don't state the bleeding obvious and condemn killers of innocent people (and people you know), you are generally thought to be a sympathiser of terrorists

The vast majority of peace-keeping people weren't allowed to go into their own town centre

The council did well by giving free cinema tickets to the Valley to keep kids away from the town centre

The EDL support Israel

The ANL support the gays

There is a taxi firm called the 'Wenger Bus'that made a killing

It wasn't a great day for Bolton generally

I don't wish to sound glib, but I'm afraid the ANL will always be a magnet for radicalised students and will always be a minority far-left student movement. The EDL support will more than likely reach some sort of peak and then will probably wither to a hard-core group whose ideals are more akin to wanting to feel part of a movement than any far-reaching political goal, as the realisation that we're not all going to succumb to some sort of mass indoctrination dawns and the third world war against Islam never actually appears on the streets of this country.

my take on this the EDL are either

1. A bunch of people opposed to the influence of extreme muslims on the country

2. A bunch of rascists intent on stirring trouble by blaming 'darkies' for everything that is wrong in the world

Depending if you believe 1 or 2, you either think think they are good or bad.

The AFU/ANL believe 2 and do not wash much.

Whatever peoples views on the rights and wrongs of the EDL it is clear that a lot of people in this country are worried by the issues at point 1 above and none of the makor parties are standing up and saying what they will do about these concerns.

I based my 'lots of people' comment on the debate this has prompted on here rather than numbers in the town centre on Saturday

I agree with Ani completely.

Senior fella at my work, is one of them Plastic Community policemen, and was drafted in for this. After the weekend, he has completely changed his view's on the EDL.

After witnessing it all first hand, he cant beleive how well organized, the EDL are, everything down to using the toilet, parking coaches, booking hotels, and especially the EDL stewards.

Maybe the general opinions are starting to change, and they will be taken more serious now.

The UAF are the one's he and many like him, now think are the trouble makers.

Today in Bolton we have seen some small evidence of this protest in the form of flag waving and vitriolic name calling - but we have also seen groups of people, predominantly associated with the UAF, engaging in violent confrontation. It is clear to me that a large number have attended today with the sole intention of committing disorder and their actions have been wholly unacceptable. Turning their anger onto police officers they acted with, at times, extreme violence and their actions led to injuries to police officers, protestors and members of the public.

Black and white on the Bolton News website (or should that be dark grey?)
