This is the away end which was pay on the door.  Away teams used to always get the whole end but can't remember if the RHS was cordoned off for more Reading lads as the queues were quite long.

Pretty sure majority on the photo would be travel club members it would be few years earlier I'd stopped travelling with the supporters club. I'd of been on the open terrace behind the net Casino and crew were posh boys back then often in the seats if memory serves me correct.

That rings a bell, for the life of me I couldn't remember why we were in the seats, as you say, at Elm Park we always got the whole open terrace behind the goal as a rule

that day, united and reading were both going for 11 in a row which i think was some sort of record

 

liking the slip on shoes and white socks look in that reading queue

 

wonder what those adidas would fetch?

Big lad in a Wanderers shirt near the front with the curly mop and clapping. That's SJ, worked at GEC. Remember him getting a job over in South Korea during the Rioch years. He missed all the fun.

he'll be on when the washing and ironing is done

all done, including my mums..... yes we went on rothwells all inclusive coach travel. great times , pity we are all getting old!

Yes I remember he went Korea now I worked at GEC with him actually remember I saw him about 10 years ago with an Asian missus who was not your normal Asian beauty nearly as big as him.
