burndenpaddock Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Gartside has just been thanked by Alan Nixon for his #wengerisabell tweet, says it was the highlight of the transfer window. The club has played a blinder this summer, signed some exciting young players, kakuta, ngogand boyata, some experience and flare with tuncay and some decent squad players in eagles, pratley etc. Top that with keeping hold of our best asset and showing the big clubs we won't be pushed around, I'm v happy with the squad we've got. Once we've got the injured players back, things will look even brighter. Fans at clubs like everton, wolves, Blackburn, Newcastle, Wigan and Swansea will probably be looking on with envy at some of the deals we have done. COYWM!!

Not so sure about Wolves, though time will tell, but very well made point. My question marks over some players remain 'til proven wrong. All these new players in at the rough cost of the Taylor, A-Habsi, Ward sales is pretty good going IMO The big question now is how does he line his side up now? Coyle loves his 442 so that's a given, he tends to stick by a chosen 11 as a rule, so who's going to be the starting 11.......... exciting times ahead
Guest bwfcdan Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Pleased!! Looking forward to Munich now!! We'll smash them!! COYW

SHAT Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Very pleased!Would've liked to have seen Bubba Wright-Phillips but if the bloke don't wanna come then stuff him. It's gonna be a very interesting and hopefully exciting/successful season.Bring on the red scum!
Snow_white Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Agreed, and if you look at the list of players with the exception of Tuncay they are all young, hungary with a point to prove to so called big parent clubs. Compare this to the time of Big Sam who would have brought in half a dozen 30 something Europeans who were here for one last payout I think it shows really astute management.

Rembrandt Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Thought we would have gone for a much needed full back +1 from me

Eagles, Mears, Pratley, Reo-Coker ............. what's the defintion of 'young' these days ?
BURNDEN BILLY Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 OC has done what he said he would do, only had value and tallent to the team, not just making up the numbers. Breakeven on deals I think and a lower wage bill. Objective well and truly achieved. Then to keep Cahill after a ?13mill cash bid was offered, the club are getting balls. Great news.
roybarker Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 agree just like to know exactly what spurs offered-in view of how much they pulled in,if cahill was their main target why did they not just stump up
enzo gambaro Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Then to keep Cahill after a ?13mill cash bid was offered, the club are getting balls. I'll show my arse if we turned down ?13m.
