Matt Lofthouse Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 What a load of horse shit! We lost at the Emirates like we have done every single time we hsve played there, we got gubbed by Munich like we do every other game against them, we got twatted at anfield like we do every year, we got beat by a goal against a city team that has cost half a billion! We will get beat by Chelsea, its what we all knew in June when the fixtures came out. There are four halves of football I will look at so far, QPR 1st and 2nd and Norwich 1st and 2nd. So far I am happy with 3 out of 4 halves of football.7 easy Come gsme 14 we will have had 7 games to build confidence and we will be looking for our fucking passports talking of europe! Spot on mate Not sure about the passports bit.
sirnatlofty Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 under no circumstances do you change the manager of bolton wanderers. its a shame that its a topic of conversation. Coyle will get there in the end given his financial support being not all to great. our season fizzled out last season when we lost at wembley. Nothing to play for - end of! and the start of this season as you have seen by the fixtures, lets face it we were always going to be bottom come the end of september. Getting rid of coyle would only mean a new manager wanting his own new squad possibly not getting it to work and then we really would be up shit creek in a popped dinghy. stick with what we know can work, get some points on the board and hopefully take some game form and confidence into the january fixtures when we face it all again! Went to arsenal yesterday! im still upset so dont fucking bully be for posting my opinion.

Having slept on it im even more sure that keeping coyle is the right thing to do, even if the worse was to happen we need to stick with him and let him finish the job.5 of yesterdays team were players that were here when he arrived, the dropping of skd is just part of this evolution.
gonzo Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 just in comparison look at newcastle. they lie 4th in the table and the media are saying what a great job alan pardew is doing. without wanting to harp on about the fixture list too much, they have played.... aresenal 0-0 sunderland 1-0 fulham 2-1 qpr 0-0 villa 1-1 blackbrun 3-1 i see these results as nothing more than adequate and they are 4th in the table.im quite confident we would of matched these results given their fixtures. i know its all if,buts and maybes like ive said earlier, the fixture list has been a curse from the outset. anyone thinking of calling for the managers head need to wait till we have a six game run like newcastle have just had.
Mounts Kipper Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 No doubt Coyle should stay, his team selections against Villa and Arsenal showed he is now going to utilise other systems rather than just 4-4-2, the shocking run of fixtures and the poor result and performance against Norwich means that this season is going to be a battle, but I believe that we do have the personnel to get out of trouble, the return of Holden and the signing of Kakuta, Ngog and hopefully the return of CYL in the new year are going to play a big part. Some people are saying that by christmas with our relatively easy run that we will be comfortable mid table, I do not see it like that if on new years day we are out of the bottom 3 I will be happy as I believe that there are worse squads than ours and in the second half of the season we use that as a platform to pull away from danger, the fans have a big part to play, we have to get behind the team and give them full backing, so lets stiop all the whinging and whining (me included) and that will give us the best opportunity to get out of this hole and not sacking the manager.
HomerJay Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Gonzo, I thought the exact same thing about Newcastle this morning.

Norwich at home is easier than any of those six games - we lost that, theyre unbeaten
frank_spencer Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Well done on spotting that Tarian. You cannot assess the norridge game on its own as it was in the middle of an energy and morale draining run against the top sides in the country.
gonzo Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 but the norwich game was in the middle of a horrendous, confidence sapping run of games. making no excuses, about norwich or any other indivdual result for that matter. im just saying before we all start rolling around the floor in floods of tears, just have a look other teams we would expect to be around us towards the end of the season and see how they have had it.....and looking at newcastle, alot more fucking easy than us.

Fair enough to an extent However, if "energy and morale" are getting sapped by the run against the top teams in games we werent expected get anything from (as every keeps saying, i for the record agree we aint on much lower points than i expected now) then do something about it to prevent it: Either a, play the side or simialr that beat villa against norwich if confidence/morale/energy was down after the 5v0 home loss, or, accept than unlikely get anything v man u anyway, rest a few, morale and energy therefore not down for norwich Edited September 25, 2011 by tarian1979

Oh yeh theyve had it easier, as have blackburn and most others. For the record though i think newcastle will be in the middle group away from any trouble, can see us in the bottom six along with swansea, norwich, blackburn, wigan and one other west brom or wolves.
jules_darby Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Norwich was a bag o shite, and being in the middle of a tough run is an excuse that you must be searching for; players pray for games like that when every other week their backs are up against the wal FFS Anyway, we're about to have a run of games we should get points from and yeah we've played alot of the top teams, the only issue is it's alot harder from the bottom; the pressure is on, the players can get tense and bad decisions can be made individually in games It's not time to sack OC, but it's time for him to earn his corn

beer_swiller Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 One position Coyle should address is the left back. How many times has a goal scoring opportunity arisen from that side.
clown Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 What you do at this point if you are Gartside is get him in the office and give him an extension to his contract. Stick two fingers up to anyone who doesn't see that this fella is the best man for the short term and long term job in hand. Too many on here read the tabloids and always want the heroin boost of news/scandal/headlines.
fruitbat69 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I can't believe people would even think about considering OC position after 6 games. 4 of those teams will be in the top 6 at the end of the season. It's a perspective thing. We have a lot of new personnel in who need to time to adjust. Thank god most of these people who want him out aren't chairman cos there would be no managers in jobs. Let's see where we are the 6 games after the Chelsea one and see our position after the Everton game. My only worry is that suspensions are gonna kill us and discipline needs to be addressed now.
Didledee Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 It's pointless, I'm not saying yes or no because what's the point. It was shit under Megson, he eventually got sacked, we thought we had brought in a great replacement and yes at times, well between August-December 2010 we have seen some sensational football, however the results, performances and lack of passion, belief atm is null. I remember Bolton being a hard team to beat, a team that the big boys would really have to be at their best to beat us. That's gone, we're a pushover and an easy 3 points. Who could come in and do better, maybe it's just the way things are meant to be, gradually declining, we bring someone in, we lose a few, and it all starts again. I don't even think we have a good team/squad, Cahill, Holden and Lee are our main assets, we go down, they defo move on, we will end up getting some shit manager who had had previous with clubs in debt, clubs relegated. People can say what they like about games getting easier but I don't think we have any game were we can say we are odds on favorites, we're already playing catch up and the confidence and performances are nowhere to be seen, you can be the most enthusiastic, be a good man manager, have a good football philosophy, but if you ain't got the players or any luck, i.e injuries all the time to key players, then you're going to struggle. The thing is, we have had great success under Big Sam, and that sticks in the memory, we have tasted them heights, which got us top 6-8 and Europe, it was a big decline from January 2007, we had Champions League, results were poor, Sam left, Sammy Lee came in, we ended up with a UEFA cup place on the last day but our form between Jan to May almost meant we got nothing. Then Lee got sacked, the disappointment of hiring Megson, then 2 seasons of absolute garbage, then finally some light, something to get us happy again, Megson sacked > Coyle in > stayed up 1st season > saw good football with players like Wilshere, then we started the 2010-2011 season on fire, ripping teams apart, scoring magical team goals... but it didn't last, we have gradually gone backwards, players have left, key players have got injured, players have got worse [Jussi and K.Davies for example] and we are losing every single week, we occasionally get a weekend that brings premature optimism[Arsenal 2-1 at home, QPR 0-4 away] but that's it. From a neutral view, I see our team and I think we ain't in the bottom 3 worst teams, however from what I've seen and the confidence I have in this lot, I can't say if I think we'll avoid relegation, hard start I know, but these easier games will also be knows as an easier game for our opposition, our defence is shocking, we will concede so many goals and we don't have the strikeforce to even it out.
HomerJay Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Has anybody even said yes yet (except anewman obviously) I doubt anybody is actually wanting coyle sacked
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Has anybody even said yes yet (except anewman obviously) I doubt anybody is actually wanting coyle sacked Nope, this thread needs locking for sure.
jazza Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 This is the shittest thread ever on WW. We have lost at home to Norwich, and personally I think we were unfortunate to lose it. This start for the season was always going to be tough asnd next week will be no easier. give it another 4 or 5 games after that and then if we are still without a win since the opening day then maybe start having a go at Coyle. Personally, I have faith in him and will back him even if we go down.
Arnold Jackson Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Personally, I have faith in him and will back him even if we go down. Me too... he's spent 'nothing' and whilst I don't rate many of our squad most of em were here when he came! That said, it's taking him an absolute age to drop the senior players who need to be ... perhaps he has more faith in some than me but we all think we can pick a better 11 than the manager
captainmed Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Coyle shouldn't be sacked yet. But he's out of his depth at this level IMO. You can only get so far with motivation, coaxing and encouragement. At some point then ability and tactical nouse comes onto it. He shows little and doesn't look the same these days in front of the camera either. He's obviously feeling the pressure and so he should be. I know that we have played the top teams but general workrate, pressing the ball etc have been poor and the performances against mu and liv were limp and in-excusable. We lied down and no team should ever ever do that. Watch this space.
