Mounts Kipper Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) We all know changes are needed in the starting 11 what we don't always realise is that any new manager must give the team members who have been here for a while every chance to perform under the new management structure if DF made instant sweeping changes to the team he risks creating a split within the squad the fall out from that could effect the morale and team spirit into next season, we have to show some patience with him for that reason alone. Estupendo Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I think Dougie expected more from his players yesterday and yes he has got half an eye on the derby game and then next weekend too. SKD failed to take the chance that would have delivered a win. Maybe we won't see him much from now on? What Df match comments are about are probably to deflect but I cannot believe he expected such poor performances from Mavies, LCY and De Ridder. He should have foreseen KD being an issue though. So I am not so sure if he had set things up to simply hold out and I suspect he has told a fib. Quote

Football's not a complicated game. I'm hoping for some of that when I get home in 2 weeks anyway.  Generally I agree with Mounts though. Quote

Â Chungy, Mark Davies & De Ridder were completely ineffective, leaving SKD isolated & ineffective. Pratley covered loads of ground but is mostly quite clumsy with the ball, while Mears & Alonso aren't good enough defensively. Â but, We fought back from a goal down & again showed our improved fitness, Our goal was very good, a lovely cross from Eagles & a clinical finish from C Davies. CD looks very promising & probably SKD's replacement. Intelligent subs again from Dougie. Impressive fighting spirit in the last 10 minutes when we were hanging on with 10 men....with special mentions for Knight & Bogdan. Â Overall...away, a goal down, playing poorly, finishing with 10 men..and we still got a draw...a point that we wouldn't have got under Coyle. Slow progress, but it's still progress. Quote

Â However, yesterday was bloody awful, he needs to pick the best team for the job and not magically bringing on super subs to 'change the game'.
