Grasshopper Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Rats comment is a crappy one though Quote
stevieb Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 It's the lowest of a lot of peoples, especially under 30-25 Bollocks. I'm 28 and pretty sure the time Sam took over and the last days of Colin Todd were Utter bogwank at the nether regions of the championship... Hmm you may be right actually Dids Quote
Traf Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 If it's pay on the day, me and Jnr are in. If it isn't, we aren't. Quote
marple whites Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 It's a no from me, can't remember the last time I didn't go home or away on Boxing Day. Quote
Big E Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I don't want to go. I am not buying a ticket. I imagine I will be there ha ha Quote
itdiddidit? Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 after yesterday im not going again this year Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 express it however you want i don't care if you go or don't i'm just drawing similarities to last time things became a challenge and loads gave it up as a bad job fwiw, i have nowt but contempt for those that jacked when we were shit and came back cos we were in the top league We might disagree on a lot of topics but on this we sing from the same hymn sheet. Ship jumpers = RATS. Quote
captainmed Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 No enthusiasm for the game but its Boxing Day, and sky games before and after should make for a good day on the piss. Staying over too as Barnsley on Boxing Day evening is a lively affair. Same for Leicester too, one of the few towns in the UK I've never had a drink in. Quote
TheWanderer1958 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 How can you not go???? Get out the house, get pissed, have a sing song with your mates, watch the Wanderers and get to see Big E's Christmas Onesie!! Quote
Biggish Dave Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'd probably go if I was in the country but I go away on Boxing Day for a few days. Not been to away games on Boxing Day since Burnley Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'm well and truly in. Gets me out of a family party. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 In. Based on Saturday god knows why but it's Boxing Day and, as has been said already, that's football day Quote
davidjack Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Folk choosing not to go, for whatever reason, don't deserve to be called rats. Behave. Players on 10 to 20 grand a week who can't be arsed and are happy to keep picking up their pay cheque, now that's a different matter. And don't get me started on those on the board and their bonus payments for incompetence over the past 5 years or so. Quote
passmosster Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Yep it was terrible watching the Colin Todd teams. Go at them straight out of the tunnel and never give the opposition a chance. Get nigh on 100 points but get relegated from the Prem with 40 points. We can but dream. But I'd have that any day of the week from where we are at the mo. Quote

Just watched the clip on the other thread v Crystal Pal. They weren't that bad an outfit, in comparison with some of those at the bottom end of the current Prem Quote

We're not talking about folk who miss a few games were talking about fans who disappear completely when the going gets tough. The mid 80s were a prime example 5000 fans kept the club alive, the 20 odd thousand who enjoyed the last 15-20 years can thank those who did not throw the towel in when times got hard and I don't mean anything like today's problems on a completely different scale back then. davidjack Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 As one of the few who had a season ticket in Div 4 I don't need to justify going or not going to anyone. And I teckon the same applies to plenty on here too...so I'm not sure why these questions of loyalty are being brought up. I doubt those who jumped on and have now jumped off said bandwagon will be reading Wanderersways threads anyway. Quote

There might only have been 5k who kept going but ask ANYONE from that time and no one will admit they fucked it off until we were back to the good days. It will be the same in 10 years time. Everyone who fucks it off now because we're shit will be back for the good days claiming they never stopped. I wasn't there for the last real dark days but if we have more bad days to come I sure as fuck will be now. Quote
davidjack Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 For the record, I've not fucked it off (nor will I ever)...I've been to half the away games this season, just choosing not to give up Boxing Day this year. Quote
