e2e4 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 That could be Rooney, can only think of the goal against Uraguay in Brazil game that mattered. The qualifaction groups we've had have been 'easy' for recent tornaments, even in 2008 when they were seeded third and Allardyce McLaren fucked it up. .. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 he only played 6 games that weren't friendlies or glorified friendlies in the home internationals Different era, the home nations weren't as pub league as now, there was no real qualifiers like now, playing pub teams like San Marino. So of course there we're more friendlies At least he scored 3 in a WC Finals. 1 against a non to shabby Uruguay team. Were his first couple against a useful Yugoslavia? Followed by, of course , the whole LOV scenario, against the then supposed best side in Europe. Quote

BOWTUN BAKED Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 wales have beaten england 5 times in 3000 games northern ireland 3 in a million tin pot put on your red shoes and dance the blues I don't know, but I think you may be exaggerating! Typical Pinko's from the boundaries, pink tinted spectacles, ruby red slippers & friends of Dorothy! Quote
Farrelli Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 he only played 6 games that weren't friendlies or glorified friendlies in the home internationals What about Tom Finney and Stanley Mathews? May as well write them off as well! Yes the game was more amateurish back in the 50's but by 'eck you had to be tough. Quote
Casino Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 mathews, tough? wasnt it him who would always get a niggle before he played at burnden? Quote
Pablo Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Bitter bitter bitter people!!! 31 of Bobby Charltons goals were in friendlies, just saying. And what has Nat Lofthouse got anything to do with Rooney and this record ??? Quote
Casino Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) because lofthouse has the second best goals per game record of anybody who has scored a reasonable number and hes a bolton player i think the only fella better was from farnworth its a bolton board so we won't be taking any advice from you if hed had as many games as rooney, he'd have scored fcuking 80 goodnight Edited September 9, 2015 by Casino Quote
Pablo Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) So bitter. This record is nothing to do with a bloke that only played 31 games for England. EDIT : And you will find that Nat in 2nd....POST war. But you already know that, and picking an arbitrary point makes him look better!! Edited September 9, 2015 by Pablo Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 And what has Nat Lofthouse got anything to do with Rooney and this record ??? Irony at its best.... Quote
Pablo Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Im not sure you understand the meaning of the word. Well done Wayne Rooney, brilliant to break the record, and soon to break the Manchester United record, quality. Quote
MalcolmW Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Bitter bitter bitter people!!! 31 of Bobby Charltons goals were in friendlies, just saying. And what has Nat Lofthouse got anything to do with Rooney and this record ??? Did you just make that number up, or can't you count? (Of Charlton's 49 goals, 16 were in home internationals (competitive), 10 in Euro or World Cup qualifiers or finals and 25 in friendlies. The reason they don't add up is that 2 of the goals were in the 1967-68 Home International Championship, which was also a qualifying group for Euro '68.) Quote
Pablo Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Home internationals may aswell be against san marino and the Usa, shite Quote
tomski Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Well done to Rooney. He is top English scorer. But he is no Robbie Keane yet. Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Fair play on getting the record but until he does the business in a major tournament he will fall short of being an England great for me. Quote
famouswanderer Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Can some of us just remember that Rooney is a Munich cunt Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Can some of us just remember that Rooney is a Munich cunt Correct.... apart from when he's wearing an England shirt. If he scores the goals that lead us to glory then I won't give a fuck which team he plays for....until he pulls the disgusting red manc shirt on again! Quote
tyldesley_white Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Can some of us just remember that Rooney is a Munich cunt Is the correct answer Quote
Spider Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 As an aside, Wales have gone above England in the rankings, which proves what an utter farce that is. However, does that mean they'd be seeded for the draw? Quote
