COYW Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Aye....saved the club from a second consecutive relegation He had a damned good go at relegating us himself. Worst start in our entire history in his second season and well on the way to repeating the trick in his third. Quote
snowball Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Aye....saved the club from a second consecutive relegation, rescued the club from financial meltdown & allowed the club to comply with FFP by saving around £60m, repaired a large part of the damage caused by that cunt Coyle..apart from financially, he also had to clear out shite like NGog, Eagles, Sordell, Mears who were draining a fortune out of the club in wages whilst contributing fuck all on the pitch....at the same time as having to do without players like Dawson & Juke, What a bastard eh ? Unbelievable and that's just the first point! Saved the club from relegation only to relegate us the next year with another record shit start, aye cheers Dougie! May you make others suffer as we did. Amen Quote
bolton va va Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Who is denying the damage Owen Coyle did to Bolton? The man had caused more ever lasting damage than any other manager in our history. Dougie Freedman was brought in to get us promoted with a shit load of cash right in the middle of a flurry of parachute payments. As casino/mrs freedman states...any club that fails to go straight back up has been mismanaged. Douglas' remit was promotion. His Targets changed halfway through and he nearly had us relegated. You denied the damage that Coyle did to Bolton by saying that all the problems I listed were .." a direct result of his ( Freedman's ) inadequate management " Who says DF was just brought in to get us promoted ? I'd say he was brought in to save us from a 2nd relegation & get the finances under control, with promotion a longer term target. He wasn't given a shit load of cash to spend.....any money he spent was outweighed by the money he saved. Quote

Redmond Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 You're wasting your time va va. Logic doesn't work here. Everything is either black, or white. Accept it. You only need to look at the difference in tone over the last 4 days to understand how fickle this place is. Quote
davidjack Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Nobody's arguing what he inherited wasn't a mess, but through his ludicrous team selections, non possession football, talking up the youth but never playing them, two worst starts in our entire history, treating the fans like idiots by describing games in post match interviews in a way which totally contradicted what everyone had just seen with their own eyes...do I need to go on?...he made that mess a whole lot worse. Had he not been sacked we'd have been where Blackpool are now heading - League 1. Quote

Just think if gartside hadn't changed his mind at the last minute and stuck with big mick we would be back up now with the squad and financial backing Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Freedmans 2 biggest gaffes were playing Hall against Blackpool and also not doing everything possible to sign Dawson until end of season. Them mistakes I genuinely believe shaped tge next 2 seasons I'm sure we'd have got promoted back in the play offs that season and that was a massive missed opportunity. Quote

We'd not have been promoted in the play offs in a million years. We had Craig Davies and Marvin Sordell up front. With Kevin Davies not in Dougie's plans it left Eaves as our only striking backup. Do you seriously think that would have outgunned a Watford side with Deeney and Vydra over two legs? Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 there was nothing he could've done Im not sure what could've been done but Freedman mentioned something along the lines of Im not asking West Brom to extend the loan that implies something might have been doable and it was his duty to BWFC to try everything in his power.
